Identifying the animal feed value using of destoned dry olive pulp obtained from different production processes and possibility of using it in animal feeding
Yavuz, M.T.
This research has been conducted in order to determine the animal feed value of Destoned Dry Olive Paste (DDOP) and to identify its effects on breeding performance in lambs. In the research; in situ (nylon bag) method was used for determining the animal feed value of DDOP. The degradability and the degradability parameters of DDOP produced in 2 phases (2F), 3 phases (3P), and 2+3 (2+3P ) as dry substance (KM), organic substance (OM), crude protein (MP), fibre not dissolving in acid detergent (ADF), fibre not dissolving in neutral detergent (NDF) in rumen were detected. Lamb feeding experiment was conducted with 36 lambs which were divided into 3 groups composed of 12 individuals carrying similar characteristics. The groups were fed on isocaloric and isonitrogenic lamb breeding meals containing %0 (Control) %10 and %20 2+3F DDOP and the experiment continued for 42 days.As a result of the research, the degradability of 2F and 2+3F DDOPs has been found to be higher compared to 3F DDOPs' degradability. In all incubation periods, the degradability of KM, OM, NDF, and ADF was detected to be higher than the HP degradability. At the end of the breeding experiment, it was detected that adding %10 and%20 did not have a considerable effect on breeding performance. Adding DDOP to ration decreased the lamb breeding cost %5.5 - %12.5.Consequently, it was concluded that DDOP can be added to lamb breeding ration up to%20 percent and it can be suggested as an alternative feed source instead of rice bran.
