Expertise of flooding by heavy runoff following the storm of 06.07.2016 in the town of Lucheux (80) | Expertise de l’inondation par ruissellement intense suite à l’orage du 07/06/2016 sur la commune de Lucheux (80)

Английский. This expertise has been required by the Prefecture of the Somme. It concerns a case of rapid flooding due to an intense storm event which generated an intense runoff at 3.5 km upstream of the flooded zones. This runoff, loaded with sediment was then transfered downstream till the village, passing through a forested area where the rainfall was negligible. The storm of June 7, 2016 generated the muddy flood in the downstream area of the town of Lucheux. Despite a height of water that did not exceed 40 cm at most, the damage to homes, underground garage and external areas are important in view of a mud deposit about 10 cm over the entire flooded area. Heavy rains have mainly affected the agricultural plateau at the upper watershed of the forest Watron. The accumulated rainfall reached 244 mm in 2:15 on the border area with the municipality of Mondicourt (Pas de Calais) who lamented at this point the death of a motorist caught by the flood that flooded the N25. The occurrences of the rainfall event and also the flooding are estimated greater than those corresponding to the 10-years reccurence interval.

Французский. Cette expertise a été requise par la préfecture de la Somme. Elle concerne un cas d'inondation rapide en raison d'un événement d'orage intense qui a généré un ruissellement intense à 3,5 km en amont des zones inondées. Ce ruissellement, chargé de sédiments a ensuite été transféré en aval jusqu'au village, en passant par une zone boisée où la pluviométrie a été négligeable. L’orage du 7 juin 2016 a généré l’inondation boueuse du quartier aval de village de Lucheux. Malgré une hauteur d’eau qui n’a pas dépassé 40 cm au plus, les dégâts aux habitations, garage souterrains et zones externes sont importants compte tenu d’un dépôt de boue de 10 cm environ sur l’ensemble de la zone inondée. Les pluies intenses ont affecté essentiellement le plateau agricole situé à l’amont du bassin versant de la forêt de Watron. Le cumul pluviométrique a atteint 244 mm en 2h15 sur la zone frontière avec la commune de Mondicourt (Pas de Calais) qui a déploré à cet endroit le décès d’un automobiliste pris par le flot qui a inondé la N25. Les occurrences de l’épisode pluvieux et de l’inondation associée sont estimées supérieures à la période de retour décennale.
