CHANGES IN DENSITY AND VISCOSITY OF BIODIESEL FUEL AND ITS COMPOSITIONS DURING STORAGE

The dependence of the physicochemical characteristics of biodiesel fuel synthesized from camelina oil and from linseed oilon the storage time in a metal tank and polyethylene tank was studied. Both the density and viscosity of biodiesel fuel increaseduring storage, especially in a metal tank. Azobenzene derivatives containing two hydroxyl groups in ortho positions to the azogroup and electron-donating functional groups in aromatic rings were offered as antioxidant additives.When storing compositions prepared from petroleum diesel fuel and camelina oil methyl esters, their delaminaton occurs,probably due to weak intermolecular interactions between petroleum hydrocarbons and biodiesel molecules. The most stablecompositions are compositions with 50–70% of biodiesel fuel.
