A comparison was made of tests for chlamydial infection on 15 koalas using a complement fixation test and an immuno-dot blot test for anti-chlamydial antibodies in blood; and a gene probe (GP) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for identifying chlamydia from swab material. The results showed that PCR is useful for screening populations of free-ranging kangaroos.
