Fresh seed was dormant, and resistant to scarification; reaction to air-dry storage indicated an after-ripening period of at least 1 year. Germination was inhibited below 18.5 deg.C, greatest at high temperatures, and more strongly correlated with night than with day temperatures. It is expected that in the field, in the Riverina of New South Wales and Victoria, germination would be limited to the summer months.
