Английский. Plant phosphorus, which accounts for the major part (2/3 to 3/4) of the available phosphorus in monogastric animals, consists mainly of phytates. The availability of phosphorus may be improved by adding microbial phytase to the feed or by using phytase-rich cereal diet. This enzyme optimizes the utilization of plant phosphorus in poultry and pigs, and minimizes the need for added inorganic phosphorus, thus markedly reducing the excretion of phosphorus in manure

La sua utilizzazione da parte degli animali dipende in larga misura dall'integrazione o dalla presenza naturale di fitasi. Questo enzima, valorizzando questa forma di fosforo, considerata poco disponibile, permette di economizzare sui fosfati minerali aggiunti e di ridurre le escrezioni di fosforo nelle lettiere
