Possibility of evaluation of breadmaking quality for wheat breeding by Panasonic Automatic Bread Maker

The objective of this experiment was to compare variety relations from Panasonic automatic bread maker to the "MILLS" baking method used in the Czech Republic earlier for quality evaluation during state tests. The experiment included two sets of wheat varieties with different quality from two harvest years. The results from 1994 are promising for baking quality evaluation by Panasonic automatic bread maker in wheat breeding process. This method is practical, easy, economical and could be used for differentiating feed wheats from good quality wheats. Panasonic method is probably not suitable for a precise evaluation of the baking quality of varieties.
