Английский. [Lack of available space and of roughage and haemoglobin levels are some of the more interesting topics of veal calves production. The aim of this work was the evaluation of some indicators as behaviour stereotypies and lesions of the abomasum in veal calves under different housing and feeding systems. The results pointed out the importance of different variables as indicators for a better understanding of effects on calf welfare. Housing system seems to have an higher effect than feeding, even if different feeds should be tested]

La mancanza di spazio, di fibra e i livelli di emoglobina sono alcuni degli aspetti piu' interessanti per quanto riguarda l'allevamento del vitello a carne bianca. Scopo della presente indagine e' analizzare alcuni indicatori quali stereotipie comportamentali e lesioni abomasali in vitelli a carne bianca sottoposti a differenti tipi di stabulazione ed a differenti tipi di alimento. I risultati hanno messo in evidenza che gli indicatori considerati permettono di comprendere meglio l'effetto di tali variabili sul benessere dei vitelli. La stabulazione sembra avere un'influenza maggiore rispetto all'alimentazione, anche se sarebbe opportuno testare vari tipi di foraggi
