Effect of microwave treatment on water absorption ability of lupine seeds

The study aimed at evaluating the effect of thermal microwave (800 W) treatment over 2 and 4 min on water absorption by lupine seeds, Emir, Juno, Wat cultivars, completely immersed in water at the temperature 291K. Seed moisture content was determined before treatment and next after 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 30 hrs. Applied thermal treatment increased water absorption ability of tested seeds during immersion within time interval from 8 to 30 hrs
