The aim of the studies is to present the extent of innovativeness in the bakery and confectionary sector on the basis of selected companies located in two comparable urban areas in Warminsko-Mazurski region and Kujawsko-Pomorski region. The paper presents the findings of studies which involved the identification of innovative activities and their extent in the selected areas. The authors tried to compare the extent of innovativeness in the companies located in the two regions
