Extract: This manual presents basic procedures that livestock producers can use to evaluate the economic feasibility of available waste management technologies. It suggests a decisionmaking process, identifies basic economic principles and tools, and applies them to alternative management practices. Although several potential uses for manure are being investigated, this report addresses only the fertilizer potential. Similar procedures could be used for evaluating other uses.
