The effect of continuous maternal dietary restriction in F0 and F1 generations on the metabolism of nucleic acids and proteins was studied in the liver, brain and kidney of the young in F2 generation. The dietary restriction in F0 and F1 generations caused less severe reductions in body and organ weights as well as RNA, DNA and protein content in the organs of the progeny as compared to the offspring of dietary restricted dams in F0 generation. Additional findings and data are reported.
