Diseño de un sistema de riego mediante difusores subterráneos y su efecto en la ecofisiología y productividad del agua en higuera (Ficus carica L.)

"Los sistemas de riego de aporte subterráneo han sido objeto de investigación por varios años; en países como EUA, Israel y España, estudios formales durante los últimos 35 años han logrado avances importantes en relación a su funcionamiento desde la óptica hidráulica y en relación al incremento de la productividad del agua, sin embargo, es un sistema cuya aceptación por parte de los usuarios ha sido lenta y con dificultades, debido los problemas que se presentan en campo al operar los sistemas. Uno de los inconvenientes principales se relaciona con los daños producidos por roedores, que en ocasiones dejan al sistema inoperante. En el presente trabajo de investigación se pretende rescatar las bondades del sistema de riego subterráneo, con un nuevo diseño denominado riego subterráneo por difusión (RSD), resolviendo los problemas actuales. Para evaluar dicha tecnología se diseñaron dos experimentos con la finalidad de realizar comparaciones entre tres sistemas de riego, de los cuales dos son sistemas superficiales, riego por goteo con cinta (RGC) y riego localizado en franjas (RLZ), comparados con un sistema de aporte subterráneo RSD. El primer experimento se diseñó para evaluar la pérdida de agua por evaporación directa del suelo; los resultados mostraron una marcada diferencia, la cual fue de 30% entre RSD y RLZ, y de 44% entre RSD y RGC, donde el sistema que mostró menor evaporación directa del suelo fue RSD. El segundo experimento consistió en la evaluación de tres sistemas de riego, dos de aporte superficial y uno de aporte subterráneo; se evaluaron las relaciones hídricas-suelo-planta atmosfera en un cultivo de higuera variedad White Kadota (Ficus carica L.); también se comparó la productividad del agua para cada uno de los sistemas en el cultivo de higuera en relación a la producción de siconos frescos. Los resultados no mostraron diferencias notorias en las relaciones hídricas suelo planta atmosfera, sin embargo, mostraron diferencia muy marcada en la productividad del agua, en relación a la producción de siconos frescos; se obtuvo un Kg de higo fresco con: 0.86 m3 en el sistema RSD, 1.88 m3 en el sistema RGC y 2.46 m3 en el sistema RLZ."

"Underground irrigation systems have been investigated for several years; in countries such as the USA, Israel and Spain, formal studies during the last 35 years have made important advances in relation to their operation from the hydraulic perspective and in relation to the increase in water productivity, however, it is considered a system whose acceptance by users has been slow and difficult, due to the problems that arise in the field when operating them. One of the main problems is related to the damage produced by rodents, which sometimes leave the system inoperative. The aim of this research was to take advantage of the benefits of the underground irrigation system, with a new design called underground irrigation by diffusion (RSD), solving current problems. To evaluate this technology, two experiments were designed in order to perform comparisons among three irrigation systems, including two surface systems, drip irrigation with tape (RGC) and a localized irrigation in strips (RLZ), which were compared with a RSD underground system. The first experiment was designed to evaluate the loss of water by direct evaporation from the soil; results showed a marked difference, which was 30% between RSD and RLZ, and 44% between RSD and RGC, where the system that showed the lowest direct evaporation from the soil was RSD. The second experiment consisted in the evaluation of three irrigation systems, two of them based on surface contribution and one based on underground supply. The soil-water-atmosphere relationships were evaluated in a group of fig trees, variety White Kadota (Ficus carica L.). The productivity of water for each of the systems in the group of fig trees in relation to the production of fresh fruit was also compared. The results showed no notorious differences in the water relations soil- atmosphere, however, they showed significant differences in the productivity of water, in relation to the production of fresh fig; in this sense, one kg of fresh fig was obtained with: 0.86 m3 in the RSD system, 1.88 m3 in the RGC system and 2.46 m3 in the RLZ system."
