Causas, consecuencias y alternativas para el problema del agua no potable en la horticultura de La Plata (Buenos Aires)

Diversos estudios demuestran que el agua utilizada tanto para producción como para consumo humano en el área hortícola de La Plata no es potable. En este marco, y con el propósito de visibilizar las condiciones de vida de quienes allí trabajan y viven, es objetivo del trabajo determinar el tipo de la contaminación del agua, identificar los causales particulares del mismo, y evaluar alternativas al mismo. Se demuestra que el problema se origina en cuestiones estructurales al sistema productivo, resultando más un problema político que tecnológico.

In this context, and in order to make visible the lives of those who work and live there, the aim is to determine the type of water pollution, identify particular causes of it, and evaluate alternatives. We show that the problem stems from structural issues to the productive system, being more a political problem than technological.
