Para la elaboración de la propuesta para la óptima calidad del agua que abastece al municipio de Cota con el fin de reducir las enfermedades analizando en los años 2017 a 2018, se realizó un diagnóstico con los datos del índice de riesgo de calidad del agua para consumo humano (IRCA) en los años 2017 y 2018 de la base de datos SIVICAP del Instituto Nacional de Salud. Además, se utilizó la base de SISPRO del Ministerio de Salud y Protección Social, para identificar las enfermedades. También, se utilizó el método análisis de alternativas multicriterio para evaluar las alternativas, son a nivel hogar y a nivel municipal. Por otra parte, los resultados indicaron que en el año 2017 tenía un IRCA de 11,9 que significa bajo y en 2018 con un IRCA de 19,0 que significa medio. Asimismo, las enfermedades fueron enteritis con 2 casos en 2017 y 4 casos en 2018, diarrea y gastroenteritis con 6 casos en 2017 y 7 casos en 2018. Incluso, se demostró la relación entre la calidad del agua y las enfermedades que influyen. No obstante, la alternativa a nivel hogar, es hervir el agua; y a nivel municipal, es el humedal artificial. En definitiva, las bases de datos utilizadas ayudaron a determinar el IRCA y las enfermedades, por último, se debería implementar las alternativas, y, realizar el análisis de pre y factibilidad del humedal artificial y ejecutar campañas de educación en ahorro y uso eficiente del agua potable y un servicio digno.
