Origins and consequences of university desertion; mathematical model with the most frequent variables that can contribute to determining the profile of the student to drop out of school | Orígenes y secuelas de la deserción universitaria; modelo matemático con las variables más frecuentes que pueden contribuir a determinar el perfil del estudiante a abandonar los estudios

The objective of this article is to determine the State of the Art of the origins and consequences of university desertion with a view to the elaboration of a mathematical model that contributes to determining the profile of the student dropout. The methodology consisted of the review of thirtysix (36) bibliographical references in which there are around a hundred international and national experts who give an account of how desertion originates in universities and what are the most impressive consequences. The results show that the causes of university dropout are multiple and are generally related to the limited economic resources of the student, the conflict between study and work, premature obligations acquired by the students, academic problems, maladjustments to adapt to university life. The limited help of the teacher in the tutorials, poor evaluation practice, the excessive amount of autonomous work, among others. The Article consists of five sections, in the first the origins of the dropout of university students are analyzed, in the second the consequences of the abandonment of the dropout, in the third a brief characterization of the mathematical model, in the fourth the variables that they can contribute to determining the profile of the student to drop out, and in the fifth the conclusions are specified.

El objetivo del presente artículo es determinar el Estado del Arte de los orígenes y secuelas de la deserción universitaria con miras a la elaboración de un modelo matemático que contribuya a determinar el perfil del estudiante desertor. La metodología consistió en la revisión de treinta y seis (36) referencias bibliográficas en las cuales constan alrededor de un centenar de expertos internacionales y nacionales que dan cuenta de cómo se origina la deserción en las universidades y cuáles son las secuelas más impactantes. Los resultados demuestran que las causas de la deserción universitaria son múltiples y generalmente están relacionadas con los limitados recursos económicos del estudiante, el conflicto entre el estudio y el trabajo, obligaciones prematuras adquiridas por los estudiantes, problemas académicos, desajustes para adaptarse a la vida universitaria, la limitada ayuda del docente en las tutorías, mala práctica de la evaluación, la excesiva cantidad de trabajos autónomos, entre otros. El Articulo consta de cinco secciones, en la primera se analizan los orígenes de la deserción de los estudiantes universitarios, en la segunda las secuelas del abandono del desertor, en la tercera una breve caracterización del modelo matemático, en la cuarta se detallan las variables que pueden contribuir a determinar el perfil del estudiante a desertar, y en la quinta se precisan las conclusiones
