Uso racional de água e de energia elétrica na cafeicultura irrigada por pivô central e gotejamento | Rational use of water and electric power in coffee growing by using the central pivot and trickle systems

Na cafeicultura irrigada, existe um grande interesse, por parte dos produtores, na determinação de métodos de manejo da água de irrigação, que possibilitem o uso mais racional da mesma, ou seja, um método que atenda de forma satisfatória às necessidades hídricas da cultura e que permitam uma redução nos custos de produção. Grande parte dos custos de produção, em sistemas de irrigação, são atribuídos aos gastos com energia elétrica. Os motores elétricos utilizados nos sistemas de bombeamento são os principais responsáveis por esses gastos. Conhecendo-se a importância da redução destes custos, o presente trabalho objetivou a racionalização do uso da água (via tensiômetro e tanque classe "A" (manejo real), comparados com manejo via simulação (SISDA 3.5)) e de energia elétrica (adequação da força motriz e de sistema de bombeamento) na cafeicultura irrigada, avaliados em sistemas de irrigação do tipo pivô central e gotejamento, localizados na Fazenda Vista Alegre, município de Jaboticatubas - MG, no ano agrícola de 2001. Observou-se que, para o manejo da água de irrigação adotado pelo empresário durante o ano agrícola avaliado, os teores de umidade mantiveram- se em níveis considerados baixos para o bom desenvolvimento e produtividade da cultura do café, o que, de certa forma, explica as baixas produtividades alcançadas na fazenda, nos últimos anos. Na avaliação do manejo simulado com o programa SISDA, os teores de umidade mantiveram-se próximos à capacidade de campo, para o equipamento de pivô central, o que, devido às melhores condições para o desenvolvimento da cultura, possibilitou a obtenção de maiores produtividades na cultura do café. Para o equipamento de gotejamento, durante o período de maior demanda hídrica, o teor de umidade manteve-se abaixo dos valores recomendados, devido, principalmente, às limitações do equipamento, mas, ainda proporcionando melhores condições ao bom crescimento e produtividade da cultura do café. Constatou-se que a adequação de força motriz, mediante a substituição dos motores-padrão, em uso na propriedade, por motores-padrão adequados, por motores de alto rendimento de mesma potência, e por motores de alto rendimento adequados, tornou-se uma alternativa viável sob o ponto de vista técnico-econômico. Uma outra alternativa seria a substituição dos conjuntos motobombas, em uso, por conjuntos motobombas adequados às condições de projeto, podendo-se obter resultados satisfatórios quanto aos índices técnico-econômicos. Observou-se também que o número de horas de uso, recomendado para o manejo simulado, (com o uso do SISDA), foi superior ao manejo adotado na fazenda, (com o manejo real). Uma das vantagens do manejo com o SISDA seria o fornecimento de água de forma precisa e suficiente para obtenção de produtividades elevadas e competitivas. Outro fator relevante seria o gasto específico com energia hidráulica útil que, principalmente, devido à adequação dos motores e dos sistemas de bombeamento, bem como a otimização do número de horas de funcionamento de cada motor, poderia ser reduzido. Um dos principais aspectos a ser observado na avaliação da rentabilidade da cafeicultura irrigada é a produtividade. Os níveis de produtividade considerados baixos para a atividade inviabilizam a utilização da irrigação, ressaltando a importância da programação do manejo da irrigação para obtenção de maiores índices de produtividade e redução nos custos dos fatores de produção, propiciando, assim, a elevação das receitas da atividade cafeeira.

In the irrigated coffee growing, the producers are highly interested in the determination of irrigation water management methods, that may turn possible its most rational use. In other words, a method that would satisfactorily attend the water needs of this cropping, while allowing for a reduction in the production costs. In the irrigation systems, a large part of the production costs are attributed to the expenses with electric power. The electric motors used in the pumping systems are the main responsible for these expenses. Considering the importance of the reduction in these costs, the present study aimed at the rationalization in using the water (managed via tensiometer and the A class tank real management, compared to the management via simulation (SISDA 3.5)), as well as the electric power (adjustment of the driving power and the pumping system) in the irrigated coffee growing, evaluated in the irrigation systems of the central pivot and trickle types, located at Vista Alegre Farm, Jaboticatubas county - MG, during the agricultural year of 2001. In the water irrigation management adopted by the entrepreneur during this agricultural year, the contents remained at the levels considered as low ones for the satisfactory development and productivity of the coffee crop, which, on a certain way, explains the low productivities attained in the farm over the last years. In evaluating the management simulated by the SISDA program, moisture contents remained proximal to the field capacity, for the central pivot, which made possible to obtain higher coffee productivities due to the best conditions for this crop development. For the trickle equipment, over the higher water demand period, the moisture content remained below the recommended values, mainly due to the limitations of the equipment, but still providing better conditions to the satisfactory growth and productivity of the coffee crop. It was found that the adjustment of the driving power upon the replacement of the standard motors, used in the property, by adequate standard motors, by highly efficient motors with the same potency, and by adequate highly efficient motors became a viable alternative under the technical -economical viewpoint. Another alternative would be the replacement of the power pump sets under use by the power pump sets adequate to the project conditions, so turning possible to obtain satisfactory results as to the technical-economical indices. It was observed that the hour numbers of use recommended for the simulated management by SISDA was superior to the management adopted in the farm (real management). One advantage of using the SISDA management would be an accurate and sufficient supply of water to obtain high and competitive productivities. Another important factor would be the specific consumption with the effective hydraulic energy that might be reduced from the adjustment of the motors and pumping systems, besides the optimization of the number of the operating hours in each motor. One of the main aspects to be observed when evaluating the profitability of the irrigated coffee growing is the productivity. The productivity levels considered as low ones for this activity turn unviable the use of the irrigation, thus emphasizing the importance of the irrigation management program in obtaining the higher productivity indices and the reduction in the costs of the production factors, so providing the rising of the incomes from coffee activity.
