Different methodologies have been proposed over the last decades, for the estimation of soil textures using specific multi- and hyper-spectral sensors, allowing the rapid and relatively inexpensive measurement of soil properties. In recent years, some studies have illustrated the potential of SAR measurements and very high resolution data for the retrieval of soil texture (Paris et al., 2010). Our objective in this paper is to analyze quantitatively the estimation of clay percent using TERRASAR-X data.
