Mixed infections with four gastrointestinal parasites were recorded in a desi fowl presented for post mortem in Chennai. The morphological characters of the worms found in the lumen of the gizzard, duodenum and caecum of a desi fowl were studied and the worms were identified as Ascaridia galli and Heterakis gallinarum. The caecum of a bird showed pathological changes including congestion and haemorrhages. Examination of the intestinal contents revealed the presence of eggs of A. galli and Capillaria spp along with oocyst of Eimeria spp.

Infection with Ascaridia galli still attacks poultry farms, especially chickens in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the causes of changes in anatomy pathological and histology in small intestine of broiler. The study was taken from Alif which had clinical symptoms of weakness and anorexia on July 5, 2022 in Gresik Jawa Timur. The results of anatomical pathology and histological examination showed changes in the duodenum and jejunum organs showing hemorrhagic and inflammatory cell infiltration. The results of parasite examination found A.galli worms in the lumen of the small intestine and A.galli worm eggs from feces. In this study, clinical symptoms and anatomy pathological and histology changes of the small intestine in the broiler were caused by infection with A. galli worms.

A total of five species of the nematodes, Acuaria spiralis, Gonyglonema ingluvicola, Ascaridia galli, Heterakis gallinarum and Oxyspirura mansoni were recovered from the Malaysia domestic chicken, Gallus domesticus and studied for their morphology. Scanning electron microscopy was used to study and observe the outer surface of the nematodes. The morphological of the five species ofnematodes were described and compared.
