Мета. Вивчити сортозразки проса прутоподібного (’Зоряне’, Морозко’, ’Лінія 1307’ та ’Cave-in-Rock’) за господарсько-цінними ознаками та виокремити з-поміж них найурожайніші, що мають високий вихід кондиційного насіння у взаємозв’язку з погодними умовами вегетаційного періоду за ГТК (гідротермічним коефіцієнтом). Методи. Методика наукових досліджень в агрономії; лабораторно-польовий – визначення кількісних показників вегетативної та генеративної частини рослин і маси 1000 насінин, кількісно-ваговий – для встановлення врожайності та виходу кондиційного насіння; статистичну обробку результатів досліджень виконували за допомогою варіаційної статистики та дисперсійного аналізу. Результати. Найвищі кількісні показники вегетативної (висота рослин, кількість стебел і листків, довжина прапорцевого листка) та генеративної частини рослин (довжина і ширина волоті, кількість гілочок 1-го порядку, кількість волотей, вага насіння з волоті) сформували сортозразки ’Зоряне’ та ’Лінія 1307’ незалежно від умов вирощування. За результатами досліджень визначено вплив біометричних (кількісних) показників генеративної частини рослин, у тісній взаємодії з погодними умовами за ГТК за вегетаційний період, на насіннєву продуктивність, що обумовлюють загальний врожай насіння. Урожайність насіння сортозразків проса прутоподібного за коефіцієнтом детермінації (d) залежала: на 53–59 % – від кількості гілочок першого порядку, на 48–52 % – від кількості волотей, на 12–21 % – від крупності насіння та на 6–12 % – від довжини та ширини волоті. Висновки. Виокремлено сорти ’Зоряне’ та ’Лінія 1307’, які формували ваговите насіння, високу насіннєву врожайність (більше 250 кг/га) кондиційного насіння (близько 65 %) та можуть бути використані в подальшій селекційній роботі для створення і розширення сортименту проса прутоподібного. У перспективі це дозволить без додаткових затрат отримувати якісний насіннєвий матеріал, закладати нові енергоплантації для виробництва біомаси рослин для енергетичних цілей та додаткові продукти для різних галузей промисловості.

Purpose. To study switchgrass varietal specimens (‘Zoriane’, ‘Morozko’, ‘Liniia 1307’ and ‘Cave-in-Rock’) according to economically valuable traits, and to distinguish the most yielding specimens with high yield of certified seed in relation to the weather conditions of the vegetation period (hydrothermal coefficient). Methods. Methods of scientific research in agronomy, laboratory-field method – to determine the quantitative indicators of vegetative and generative parts of plants and the weight of 1000 seeds, quantitative-weight methods – to determine crop productivity and yield of certified seed; statistical processing of research results was performed by a dispersion analysis and variation statistics. Results. Varietal specimens ‘Zoriane’ and ‘Liniia 1307’ formed the highest quantitative indicators of vegetative (height of plants, number of stems and leaves, length of flag leaf) and generative part of plants (panicle length and width, number of twigs of the first order, number of panicles and weight of seeds from panicle) independently from the cultivation conditions. Influence of biometric (quantitative) indicators of the generative part of plants, in close interaction with the weather conditions by HTC during the vegetation period, on the seed productivity, which affects the total crop yield, has been determined according to the research results. Seed yield of switchgrass varietal specimens by the determination coefficient (d) depends on: 53–59% – the number of twigs of the first order, 48–52% – the number of panicles, 12–21% – the seeds size, and 6–12% – the length and width of panicle. Conclusion. Variety ‘Zoriane’ and ‘Liniia 1307’, which form weighty seeds, high seed yield (more than 250 kg/ha) of certified seed (about 65%) have been distinguished and can be used in further breeding work to create and expand switchgrass assortment. In future, this will allow to get seed material of high quality without any additional cost as well as to establish new energy plantations for the production of plant biomass for energy purposes and additional products for various industries. | Мета. Методика научных исследований в агрономии; лабораторно-полевой – определение количественных показателей вегетативной и генеративной час­ти растений, массы 1000 семян; количественно-весовой – для установления урожайности и выхода кондиционных семян; статистическую обработку результатов исследований выполняли с помощью вариационной статистики и дисперсионного анализа. Результаты. Наиболее высокие количественные показатели вегетативной (высота растений, количество стеблей и листьев, длина флагового листа) и генеративной части растений (длина и ширина метелки, количество веточек 1-го порядка, количество метелок, вес семян с метелки) сформировали сортообразцы ‘Зоряне’ и ‘Лінія 1307’, независимо от условий выращивания. По результатам исследований определено влияние биометрических (количественных) показателей генеративной части растений в тесном взаимодействии с погодными условиями по ГТК за вегетационный период на семенную продуктивность, обусловливающих общий урожай семян. Урожайность семян сортообразцов проса прутьевидного по коэффициенту детерминации (d) зависела: на 53–59% – от количества веточек первого порядка, на 48–52% – от количества метелок, на 12–21% – от крупности семян и на 6–12% – от длины и ширины метелки. Выводы. Выделены сорта ‘Зоряне’ и ‘Лінія 1307’, которые сформировали более крупные семена, высокую семенную урожайность (более 250 кг/га) кондиционных семян (около 65 %) и могут быть использованы в дальнейшей селекционной работе для создания и расширения сортимента проса прутьевидного. В перспективе это позволит без дополнительных затрат получать качественный семенной материал, закладывать новые энергоплантации для производства биомассы растений для энергетических целей и получать дополнительные продукты для различных отраслей промышленности.

Purpose. To establish the level of formation of winter barley yield depending on weather conditions during the gro­wing season in the Forest-Steppe zone of Ukraine. Methods. Field investigations, ANOVA, variance and correlation analysis. Results. Positive correlation was revealed between yield and the duration of the vegetation (r = 0.54) and especially “heading–maturation” period (r = 0.76). Moderate positive correlation was established between yield and mean daily air temperature during the period from termination to resumption of vegetation (r = 0.44), and strong negative one – between yield and mean daily air temperature during hea­ding to maturation period (r = -0.77). Positive correlation was observed between yield and rainfall amount during the period from vegetation resumption to heading (r = 0.30). In general, during the growing season the correlation was weak (r = 0.16). For the period of “heading–maturation” low nega­tive value (r = -0.11) was fixed. This was due to heavy precipitations, especially torrential rains, which in some years have caused lodging of plantings resulted in yield decrease. Conclusions. Under the conditions of Forest-Steppe zone of Ukraine, fluctuations in temperature and water regimes are responsible for significant variability in growing season duration and yield of winter barley. Optimal amount of precipitation (close to long-time annual average) and their uniform distribution throughout growing season is the most favorable for obtaining high yield. “Heading–maturation» period is responsible for the formation of winter barley yield level.

Purpose. To conduct comparative analysis of agro-meteo­rological elements dynamics over the past 35 years and the date and duration of main phenophases of plants of apple varieties to be common for Kyiv Oblast. Methods. Field, comparative, statistical ones, generalization. Results. It was established that Kyiv Oblast has experienced the steady rising of average annual temperature (by 0,6 °С), increase of yearly precipitation (by 20 mm), considerable growth of heat supply level (by 261 °С) in the vegetation period that contributes to the changes in starting date and duration of main phenophases. Conclusions. A significant increase of the sum of active and effective temperatures accumulated for the last 35-year period in Kyiv Oblast at climatological date of occurrence of certain phenophases in the development of apple trees, led to an earlier date of flowering (by 4–5 days). At the same time it did not influence the duration of this phase, but contributed to the reduction of interphase period «the end of flowering–picking maturity of fruits» by 5–12 days.

There discussed directions of use for the valuable groats crop, namely Rice, growth rates of its production in Ukraine, options and necessity of creation new verities by breeders, that favors not just the improved nutrition of people, but improves their health, too. And also a full description is provided for new varieties of soybean listed in the Sate Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Dissemination in Ukraine.

The trend for development and spreading of diseases and pests of blackcurrant at Orel region in the conditions of extreme drought in 2010 has been detected. Abnormal weather conditions of the summer and the lack of precipitation limited both growth of host plant and disease spreading. At the background of extreme conditions of 2010 the crop phenophases shifted to earlier dates. The awakening of wintering pathogen structures began in the classic dates of the spring, although in summer their biological cycle went off rapidly. Due to the lack of moisture the disease pathogens failed to fully realize their potential of development and spreading. A favorable aspect of the extreme conditions of vegetation period, the reducing of the protective measures against diseases, is to be admitted. Abnormal weather conditions accelerated the pathogen biological cycles and reduced the stock of wintering infection; meanwhile they provoked colonization of the plants by pests. In extremely high air temperature and lasting lack of precipitation the pests number was intensively increasing, exceeding the maliciousness threshold. Due to the above some additional insecticide and acaricide treatments of berry crops were applied. Thus, the vegetation period of 2010 was described as most favorable for the development and spreading of pests and less favorable for disease pathogens.
