Purpose. Identification of soft winter wheat varieties and lines from the Plant Production Institute nd. a. V. Ya. Yuryev, NAAS by allelic state of Pina–D1 and Pinb-D1 genes for targeted use in the breeding for high confectionery properties of flour. Methods. Identification of the Pina-D1 and Pinb-D1 genes allelic state was performed by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using allele-specific primer pairs. Confectionery properties of flour were evaluated by determining the quality indicators: the water absorption capacity (WAC) of the flour, trial baking of cookies and evaluation of its quality. Results. According to the results of PCR analysis, 9 samples had an allelic composition of puroindoline genes (Pina-D1a and Pinb-D1a) characteristic for soft-grained varieties. Flour of the lines 'L137-26-0-2', 'L137-26-0-3' had the best confectionery properties, it had a WAC value less than 55%, cookies diameter 85 mm, cookies height 10 mm, estimation of a surface of cookies 7– 9 points, what meets the requirements for soft-grained wheat. 76% of the samples belonged to hard-grained varieties and had the corresponding alleles of the Pina-D1 or Pinb-D1 genes. In the studied sample, Pina-D1 gene is represented by 2 alleles: Pina-D1a and Pina-D1b. 27 samples had Pina-D1a allele, which also allows them to be used in breeding programs for grain quality when crossed with soft samples, 4 ones had Pina-D1b allele. As to Pinb-D1 gene, all hard grain samples had Pinb-D1b allele, and the 'Erythrospermum S 424-1 / 14' line was heterogeneous for Pinb-D1a / Pinb-D1b. The flour of these samples had typical for hard wheat quality indicators: WAC 68% and more, cookie diameter of 60–72 mm, cookie height of 13–15 mm, the surface evaluation of 1–4 points. Conclusions. The studies allowed to differentiate the breeding material  and transfer a soft winter wheat cultivar of a confectionery use 'L137-26-0-3' ('Mazurok') which has an allelic structure of puroindolins genes (Pina-D1a and Pinb-D1a) characteristic for soft-grained varieties and high confectionery flour properties for qualification examination.

Методы. Аллельное состояние генов Pina-D1 и Pinb-D1 идентифицировали методом полимеразной цепной реакции (ПЦР) с использованием аллель-специфических пар праймеров. Кондитерские свойства муки оценивали, определив показатели качества: водопоглотительную способность муки (ВПС), пробную выпечку печенья и оценку его качества. Результаты. По результатам ПЦР-анализа 9 образцов имели аллельное состояние генов пуроиндолинов, характерное для мягкозёрных сортов – Pina-D1a и Pinb-D1а. Лучшей по кондитерским свойствам была мука линий пшеницы ‘L137-26-0-2’, ‘L137-26-0-3’, она имела показатель ВПС меньше 55%, диаметр печенья 85 мм, высоту – 10 мм, оценка поверхности печенья составляла 7–9 балов, что соответствовало требованиям к мягкозёрным пшеницам. 76% изученных образцов относились к твёрдозёрным сортам и имели соответствующие аллели генов Pina-D1 или Pinb-D1. В опытной выборке образцов ген Pina был представлен 2 аллелями: Pina D1а и Pina D1b. 27 образцов имели аллель Pina D1а, это также позволило использовать их в селекции на качество зерна при скрещивании с сортами типа soft, 4 – аллель Pina D1b. По гену Pinb все твёрдозёрные образцы имели аллель Pinb D1b, а линия ‘Эритроспермум S 424-1/14’ была гетерогенной Pinb D1а/Pinb D1b. Эти образцы имели соответствующие твёрдозёрным пшеницам показатели качества муки: ВПС 68% и выше, диаметр печенья 60–72 мм, высота – 13–15 мм, оценка поверхности – 1–4 балла. Выводы. Проведенные исследования позволили эффективно дифференцировать селекционный материал и передать на квалификационную экспертизу сорт пшеницы мягкой озимой кондитерского направления использования ‘L137-26-0-3’ (‘Мазурок’), который имеет аллельный состав генов пуроиндолинов (Pina-D1a и Pinb-D1а), характерный для мягкозёрных сортов, и высокие кондитерские свойства муки. | Мета. Ідентифікувати за алельним станом гени Pina-D1 і Pinb-D1 сортів та ліній пшениці м’якої озимої селекції Інституту рослинництва ім. В. Я. Юр’єва НААН для цільового використання в селекції на високі кондитерські показники борошна.Методи. Алельний стан генів Pina-D1 і Pinb-D1 ідентифікували методом полімеразної ланцюгової реакції (ПЛР) з використанням алель-специфічних пар праймерів. Кондитерські властивості борошна оцінювали, визначивши показники якості: водопоглинальну здатність борошна (ВПЗ), пробне випікання печива та оцінювання його якості.Результати. За результатами ПЛР-аналізу 9 зразків мали алельний склад генів пуроіндолінів (Pina-D1a і Pinb-D1а), характерний для м'якозерних сортів. Кращим за кондитерськими властивостями було борошно ліній 'L137-26-0-2', 'L137-26-0-3', воно мало показник ВПЗ менший 55%, діаметр печива 85 мм, висоту – 10 мм, оцінку поверхні – 7–9 балів, що відповідало вимогам до м'якозерних пшениць. 76% зразків належали до твердозерних сортів та мали відповідні алелі генів Pina-D1 або Pinb-D1. У дослідженій вибірці ген Pina-D1 був представлений 2 алелями: Pina-D1а та Pina-D1b. 27 зразків мали алель Pina-D1а, що також дозволило використовувати їх в селекційних програмах на якість зерна при схрещуванні зі зразками типу soft, 4 – алель Pina-D1b. За геном Pinb-D1 всі твердозерні зразки мали алель Pinb-D1b, а лінія 'Еритроспермум S 424-1/14' була гетерогенною Pinb-D1а/Pinb-D1b. Борошно цих зразків мало характерні для твердозерної пшениці показники якості: ВПЗ 68% і більше, діаметр печива 60–72 мм, висота – 13–15 мм, оцінка поверхні – 1–4 бали.Висновки. Виконані дослідження дозволили ефективно диференціювати селекційний матеріал і передати на кваліфікаційну експертизу сорт пшениці м'якої озимої кондитерського напряму використання 'L137-26-0-3' ('Мазурок'), який має алельний склад генів пуроіндолінів (Pina-D1a і Pinb-D1а), характерний для м'якозерних сортів, та високі кондитерські властивості борошна.

To analyze collection samples by yield, protein and starch content in grain, its granulometric composition and highlight valuable sources for creating varieties sui­table for bioethanol processing. Methods. To assess the collection material, field, laboratory, measurement and weight, mathematical and statistical research methods were used.  The analysis of chemical quality indicators of triticale grain was carried out by infrared spectrometry on an Infratec 1241 device. The size of starch granules was determined by light microscopy and using the ImageJ computer program. Statistical processing of the obtained research results was carried out with the introduction of the computer program Statistica 6. Results. The results of studies on the collection of winter triticale by the main signs of suitability for bioethanol processing are presented. The grain yield in collection samples on average over the years of research ranged from 3.69 to 5.17 t/ha. The best samples were identified – numbers 181, 101, 185, 219 and the variety ’Arystokrat’ with a yield of 5.01–5.17 t/ha. By the high starch content numbers 123 (69.5%), 101 (69.8%) and the varieties ‘Petrol’ (69.0%), ‘Solodiuk’ (70.1%) and ‘Liubomyr’ (70.3%) were selected. A moderate negative correlation was found between yield and protein content (r = -0.37) and a significant negative correlation was found between starch and protein content (r = -0.64). The analysis of collection samples of winter triticale by granulometric starch composition was carried out. Maximum size of starch granules in the collection samples ranged from 19.4 to 32.7 µm, the minimum – 9.9 to 15.7 µm, and the variability range for the average size of granules was 15.4–20.0 µm. Varieties ‘Yasha’ and ‘Mundo’ were distinguished by the smal­lest average granule size of starch (15.4 and 15.6 µm) and uniformity of particle size distribution. Conclusions. Sources of valuable traits were identified by high productivity, starch content and aligned and fine granule size distribution. A moderate correlation between productivity and protein content and a significant negative correlation between starch and protein content was revealed.

Выделены сорта ‘Яша’ и ‘Mundo’ с наименьшим средним размером гранул крахмала (15,4 и 15,6 мкм) и однородным гранулометрическим составом.Выводы. Выделены источники ценных признаков высокой урожайности, содержания крахмала и выровненного и мелкого гранулометрического состава. Выявлена умеренная корреляционная связь между урожайностью и содержанием белка и значительная отрицательная – между содержанием крахмала и белка | Мета. Установлено помірну від’ємну кореляцію врожайності із вмістом білка (r = -0,37) та значну від’ємну – між умістом крохмалю і білка (r = -0,64). Проаналізовано колекційні зразки тритикале озимого за гранулометричним складом крохмалю. Максимальний розмір крохмальних гранул у колекційних зразків варіював від 19,4 до 32,7 мкм, мінімальний – від 9,9 до 15,7 мкм, а за середнім розміром гранул діапазон мінливості становив 15,4–20,0 мкм. Виділено сорти ‘Яша’ і ‘Mundo’ за найменшим середнім розміром гранул крохмалю (15,4 і 15,6 мкм) та вирівняністю гранулометричного складу.Висновки. Виділено джерела цінних ознак за високою врожайністю, вмістом крохмалю та вирівняним і дрібним гранулометричним складом. Установлено помірний кореляційний зв’язок між урожайністю і вмістом білка та значний від’ємний – між вмістом крохмалю і білка.

Purpose. To identify spring durum wheat accessions with high yield level and by yield components for their involvement in breeding programs as a source material. Methods. Field, statistical. Results. The results of the study of 65 collection samples of spring durum wheat of various ecological and geographical origin in terms of productivity in 2016–2018 are presented. The research results indicate that the samples of spring durum wheat had different yield level depending on the conditions of the year of cultivation. According to the calculations of the degree of yield stability parameters, the samples were found that ensure its level under fluctuations in weather conditions with regression coefficient close to one as follows ‘Omskiy izumrud’ (RUS), ‘Korona’, ‘Toma’, ‘Nauryz 6’ (KAZ), ‘Dura king’, ‘Candura’ (CAN), ‘Tera’, ‘Novatsiia’ (UKR), thus indicating their semi-intensive type. Collection samples of spring durum wheat that under optimal weather conditions are capable of producing significant yield increase are distinguished by wide ecological reaction. These are samples with regression coefficient more than one ‘MIP Raiduzhna’, ‘Hordeiforme 13-07’ (UKR), ‘Lan’, ‘Salaut’, ‘Ertol’ (KAZ), ‘Bezenchukskaya 205’, ‘Lilek’ (RUS). These samples can be characterized by their adaptive properties as intense ones, with a pronounced response to the environment. Over the years of the research, grain number per spike varied from 35.9 to 38.8 pcs. Year conditions in 2016 were the most favorable for plant growth and development, while index of conditions was 4.1, and the average grain number per spike was 41.4 pcs. Year conditions in 2017 and 2018 were less favorable for growth and development of durum spring wheat, and therefore there was a negative value of index of year conditions (lj = -5.1 and lj = 0.5, respectively) with less grain number per spike (32.2 and 38.2 pcs., respectively). According to the trait «1000 kernel weight», the samples were identified with regression coefficient close to one under fluctuations of weather conditions, i.e ‘Korona’, ‘Raya’ (KAZ), ‘Lilek’, ‘Bezenchukskaya 205’ (RUS), ‘MIP Raiduzhna’ (UKR). The grain weight per spike in the collection samples varied from 1.27 to 1.77 g. The stable samples ‘Ertol’, ‘Salaut’, ‘Damsinskaya yantarnaya’ (KAZ), ‘Lilek’ (RUS), ‘Novatsiia’ (UKR), ‘Duraking’, ‘Candura’ (CAN) promising in spring wheat breeding were identified and can be involved in hybridization. Conclusions. Stable and plastic samples were identified among collection material of spring durum wheat in terms of productivity for involvement in scientific programs as source material.

Мета. Оцінити екологічну пластичність урожайності проса посівного в умовах Степу, Лісостепу та Полісся України. Методи. Математико-статистичні: визначення стабільності та пластичності за методикою Ебергарда–Рассела, кореляційний аналіз. Результати. За результатами кореляційного аналізу посівних площ проса посівного за період 2011–2020 рр. визначено, що площі під посівами проса посівного в Україні залежать від світових (r = 0,34). Визначено, що високий рівень урожайності проса посівного отримано в зоні Лісостепу, а саме в Полтавській, Хмельницькій, Черкаській, Сумській та Харківській областях (2,20–2,51 т/га). Достатньо високі показники отримано у Вінницькій, Київській (зона Лісостепу) та Кіровоградській (зона Степу) областях (1,86–2,02 т/га). Низьку врожайність за 10 років відзначено у Рівненській, Житомирській та Волинській областях, які належать до зони Полісся (1,09–1,34 т/га). Показано, що протягом 2011–2015 рр. висока варіабельність урожайності проса спостерігалася в Хмельницькій, Вінницькій та Волинській областях. Коефіцієнт варіації становив 42,0–71,3%. У 2016–2020 рр. найбільшу варіацію відзначено в Донецькій, Волинській та Одеській областях. Коефіцієнт варіації – 31,8–43,9%. Визначено, що за період 2011–2015 рр. високою пластичністю врожайності проса посівного характеризуються Вінницька, Донецька, Київська, Кіровоградська, Сумська, Харківська, Хмельницька, Черкаська та Полтавська області. У проміжок із 2016 до 2020 рр. високу пластичність ознаки врожайності відзначено у Вінницькій, Київській, Харківській, Полтавській, Черкаській, Сумській та Хмельницькій областях. Висновки. За результатами проведених досліджень установлено, що під час скорочення посівних площ під просом посівним у світі, обсяг його виробництва в Україні збільшується. Визначено, що найбільша врожайність просо посівного за досліджувані роки отримана в зоні Лісостепу. Відповідно до розрахованої пластичності врожайності проса посівного визначено, що для реалізації біологічного потенціалу сприятливі умови були в Донецькій та Кіровоградській областях зони Степу, у лісостеповій зоні – Полтавська, Київська, Харківська, Хмельницька, Черкаська та Сумська області.

Year conditions in 2017 and 2018 were less favorable for growth and development of durum spring wheat, and therefore there was a negative value of index of year conditions (lj = -5.1 and lj = 0.5, respectively) with less grain number per spike (32.2 and 38.2 pcs., respectively). According to the trait «1000 kernel weight», the samples were identified with regression coefficient close to one under fluctuations of weather conditions, i.e ‘Korona’, ‘Raya’ (KAZ), ‘Lilek’, ‘Bezenchukskaya 205’ (RUS), ‘MIP Raiduzhna’ (UKR). The grain weight per spike in the collection samples varied from 1.27 to 1.77 g. The stable samples ‘Ertol’, ‘Salaut’, ‘Damsinskaya yantarnaya’ (KAZ), ‘Lilek’ (RUS), ‘Novatsiia’ (UKR), ‘Duraking’, ‘Candura’ (CAN) promising in spring wheat breeding were identified and can be involved in hybridization. Conclusions. Stable and plastic samples were identified among collection material of spring durum wheat in terms of productivity for involvement in scientific programs as source material.

Мета. Оцінити екологічну пластичність урожайності проса посівного в умовах Степу, Лісостепу та Полісся України. Методи. Математико-статистичні: визначення стабільності та пластичності за методикою Ебергарда–Рассела, кореляційний аналіз. Результати. За результатами кореляційного аналізу посівних площ проса посівного за період 2011–2020 рр. визначено, що площі під посівами проса посівного в Україні залежать від світових (r = 0,34). Визначено, що високий рівень урожайності проса посівного отримано в зоні Лісостепу, а саме в Полтавській, Хмельницькій, Черкаській, Сумській та Харківській областях (2,20–2,51 т/га). Достатньо високі показники отримано у Вінницькій, Київській (зона Лісостепу) та Кіровоградській (зона Степу) областях (1,86–2,02 т/га). Низьку врожайність за 10 років відзначено у Рівненській, Житомирській та Волинській областях, які належать до зони Полісся (1,09–1,34 т/га). Показано, що протягом 2011–2015 рр. висока варіабельність урожайності проса спостерігалася в Хмельницькій, Вінницькій та Волинській областях. Коефіцієнт варіації становив 42,0–71,3%. У 2016–2020 рр. найбільшу варіацію відзначено в Донецькій, Волинській та Одеській областях. Коефіцієнт варіації – 31,8–43,9%. Визначено, що за період 2011–2015 рр. високою пластичністю врожайності проса посівного характеризуються Вінницька, Донецька, Київська, Кіровоградська, Сумська, Харківська, Хмельницька, Черкаська та Полтавська області. У проміжок із 2016 до 2020 рр. високу пластичність ознаки врожайності відзначено у Вінницькій, Київській, Харківській, Полтавській, Черкаській, Сумській та Хмельницькій областях. Висновки. За результатами проведених досліджень установлено, що під час скорочення посівних площ під просом посівним у світі, обсяг його виробництва в Україні збільшується. Визначено, що найбільша врожайність просо посівного за досліджувані роки отримана в зоні Лісостепу. Відповідно до розрахованої пластичності врожайності проса посівного визначено, що для реалізації біологічного потенціалу сприятливі умови були в Донецькій та Кіровоградській областях зони Степу, у лісостеповій зоні – Полтавська, Київська, Харківська, Хмельницька, Черкаська та Сумська області.

This study aimed to evaluate the performance and stability of agronomic and grain quality traits of 11 spring barley varieties from the Latvian breeding programme grown in two locations for four years. The study was carried out on 11 Latvian spring barley varieties: nine covered varieties ‘Abava’, ‘Ansis’, ‘Austris’, ‘Didzis’, ‘Gāte’, ‘Idumeja’, ‘Jumara’, ‘Kristaps’, and ‘Saule PR’ and two hull-less varieties ‘Irbe’ and ‘Kornelija’. Plants of the varieties were grown in field trials of the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics, at two sites (Priekuļi and Stende) during 2014–2017. Varieties ‘Didzis’, ‘Jumara’, and ‘Ansis’ yielded significantly above the grand mean in eight environments (5.70 t•haE−1; LSD = 0.476 t•haE−1). ‘Didzis’ showed relatively high dynamic yield stability and broad adaptability to all environments (bi = 0.90; b = 1; s2d = 0.07). Grain yield for varieties ‘Jumara’ and ‘Ansis’ showed specific adaptability to unfavourable environments (bi = 0.48 and 0.55, respectively; bi is less than 1). Some covered spring barley varieties were considered to be the best in eight environments with stable and high 1000 grain weight (‘Austris’, ‘Idumeja’), test weight (‘Gāte’, ‘Jumara’, ‘Austris’), lodging resistance (‘Austris’, ‘Jumara’, ‘Didzis’), resistance to Pyrenophora teres (‘Didzis’, ‘Saule PR’) and Blumeria graminis (‘Saule PR’, ‘Didzis’). Both hull-less barley varieties ‘Irbe’ and ‘Kornelija’ were distinguished for high crude protein and ß-glucan content.

Мета. Порівняльна оцінка за врожайністю та адаптивністю сортів ячменю ярого Миронівського інституту пшениці імені В. М. Ремесла НААН різних років реєстрації. Методи. Дослідження проведені в Миронівському інституті пшениці імені В. М. Ремесла НААН у 2013–2017 рр. відповідно до загальноприйнятих методик. Об’єкт досліджень – 19 сортів ячменю ярого миронівської селекції зареєстрованих в Україні за період 1995–2017 рр. Для характеристики взаємодії генотип–середовище та диференціації сортів за врожайністю і стабільністю використали низку найбільш поширених підходів: S. A. Eberhart, W. A. Russel (1966); G. Wricke (1962); C. S. Lin, M. R. Binns (1988); M. Huehn (1990); А. В. Кильчевский, Л. В. Хотылёва (1985); В. В. Хангильдин, Н. А. Литвиненко (1981); J. L. Purchase та ін. (2000); AMMI; GGE biplot. Результати. Частка умов року досліджень у загальній варіації становила 83,40%. Достовірні, але суттєво нижчі значення мали генотип – 10,65% та взаємодія генотип–середовище – 5,95%. Перші дві головні компоненти GGE biplot пояснювали дещо більшу частку взаємодії генотип–середовище (85,58%) порівняно з AMMI моделлю (80,9%). Кореляційний аналіз виявив, що середня врожайність (Mean) мала вищесередній зв’язок як з максимальним (Max) (r = 0,69), так і мінімальним (Mіn) (r = 0,72) її значеннями. Сильну позитивну кореляцію Mean виявлено з парамет­рами: СЦГі (r = 0,88), Hom (r = 0,86), Sc (r = 0,82). Дуже сильний негативний зв’язок Mean відзначено з Pi (r = -0,96). Для Max середній негативний зв’язок спостерігали лише з Pi (r = -0,60). Mіn сильно корелювала з Sc (r = 0,96), СЦГі (r = 0,87), Hom (r = 0,84). Негативну сильну кореляцію відзначено Min з Sgi (r = -0,86). Між деякими показниками виявлено зв’язок від функціонального позитивного: δ2CAЗi і Кgi (r = 1,00), Wi і Lgi (r = 0,98), СЦГі і Hom (r = 0,98), СЦГі і Sc (r = 0,96), S2di і Wi (r = 0,96), Wi і ASV (r = 0,94), Sc і Hom (r = 0,94), δ2CAЗi і bi (r = 0,93), S2di і ASV (r = 0,93) до сильного негативного: Sgi іСЦГі (r = -0,94), Sgi і Sc(r = -0,92), Sgi і Hom (r = -0,91), Pi і СЦГі (r = -0,83), Pi і Sc (r = -0,80), Pi і Hom (r = -0,79). Висновки. Системна порівняльна оцінка статистичними і графічними підходами свідчить, що внесені до Державного реєстру сортів рослин, придатних для поширення в Україні у 2016–2017 рр. сорти ячменю ярого ‘Віраж’, ‘Талісман Миронівський’, ‘МІП Мирний’, ‘МІП Салют’, ‘МІП Сотник’, ‘МІП Азарт’, ‘МІП Богун’ переважають створені на попередніх етапах селекційної роботи сорти як за продуктивним, так і адаптивним потенціалом.

Untangling the genetic architecture of grain yield (GY) and yield stability is an important determining factor to optimize genomics-assisted selection strategies in wheat. We conducted in-depth investigation on the above using a large set of advanced bread wheat lines (4,302), which were genotyped with genotyping-by-sequencing markers and phenotyped under contrasting (irrigated and stress) environments. Haplotypes-based genome-wide-association study (GWAS) identified 58 associations with GY and 15 with superiority index Pi (measure of stability). Sixteen associations with GY were “environment-specific” with two on chromosomes 3B and 6B with the large effects and 8 associations were consistent across environments and trials. For Pi, 8 associations were from chromosomes 4B and 7B, indicating ‘hot spot’ regions for stability. Epistatic interactions contributed to an additional 5–9% variation on average. We further explored whether integrating consistent and robust associations identified in GWAS as fixed effects in prediction models improves prediction accuracy. For GY, the model accounting for the haplotype-based GWAS loci as fixed effects led to up to 9–10% increase in prediction accuracy, whereas for Pi this approach did not provide any advantage. This is the first report of integrating genetic architecture of GY and yield stability into prediction models in wheat.

The inconsistent prevalence of abiotic stress in most of the agroecosystems can be addressed through deployment of plant material with stress adaptive plasticity. The present study explores water stress induced plasticity for early root-shoot development, proline induction and cell membrane injury in 57 accessions of Aegilops tauschii (DD-genome) and 26 accessions of Triticum dicoccoides (AABB-genome) along with durum and bread wheat cultivars. Thirty three Ae. tauschii accessions and 18 T. dicoccoides accessions showed an increase in root dry weight (ranging from 1.8 to 294.75%) under water stress. Shoot parameters- length and biomass, by and large were suppressed by water stress, but genotypes with stress adaptive plasticity leading to improvement of shoot traits (e.g., Ae tauschii accession 14191 and T. dicoccoides accession 7130) could be identified. Water stress induced active responses, rather than passive repartitioning of biomass was indicated by better shoot growth in seedlings of genotypes with enhanced root growth under stress. Membrane injury seemed to work as a trigger to activate water stress adaptive cellular machinery and was found positively correlated with several root-shoot based adaptive responses in seedlings. Stress induced proline accumulation in leaf tissue showed marked inter- and intra-specific genetic variation but hardly any association with stress adaptive plasticity. Genotypic variation for early stage plasticity traits viz., change in root dry weight, shoot length, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight and membrane injury positively correlated with grain weight based stress tolerance index (r = 0.267, r = 0.404, r = 0.299, r = 0.526, and r = 0.359, respectively). In another such trend, adaptive seedling plasticity correlated positively with resistance to early flowering under stress (r = 0.372 with membrane injury, r = 0.286 with change in root length, r = 0.352 with change in shoot length, r = 0.268 with change in shoot dry weight). Overall, Ae. tauschii accessions 9816, 14109, 14128, and T. dicoccoides accessions 5259 and 7130 were identified as potential donors of stress adaptive plasticity. The prospect of the study for molecular marker tagging, cloning of plasticity genes and creation of elite synthetic hexaploid donors is discussed.

Purpose. To analyze lines of competitive testing of soft spring wheat in terms of ecological plasticity and stability using statistical methods of analysis and identify lines with high stability of grain yield.Methods. The studies were carried out during 2018–2020, on the basis of the V. M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat NAAS of Ukraine. When considering the results obtained, generally accepted methods of genetic and statistical analysis were used.Results. Evaluation of breeding material in different years makes it possible to obtain information about the characteristics of the reaction of genotypes to changes in environmental conditions. As a result of the studies, it was found that the lines Lutescens 14-32 (bi = 0.59), Erythrospermum 15-32 (bi = 0.44), Lutescens 14-47 (bi = 0.22) were of high plasticity. Calculations of ecological stability indicate that lines are considered stable, the variance of stability is zero or close to zero. From a practical point of view, lines with a combined manifestation of high ecological plasticity and stability are considered valuable. This was the line Erythro­spermum 15-32 (bi = 0.44; S2di = 0.01) that indicates its low reaction rate and the ability to provide a consistently high level of yield under any growing conditions. The most valuable are the genotypes that combine a low level of the coefficient of variation, high homeostaticity and bree­ding value, which include the lines Erythrospermum 15-32 (Hom = 206.42, Sc = 4.11), Lutescens 14-47 (Hom = 98.41, Sc = 3.91), Erythrospermum 17-08 (Hom = 78.57, Sc = 3.76), Erythrospermum 14-65 (Hom = 54.84, Sc = 3.75), Lutescens 14-32 (Hom = 54.60, Sc = 4.17), Lutescens 14-13 (Hom = 35.60, Sc = 3.78), Lutescens 14-48 (Hom = 46.66, Sc = 3.58).Conclusions. The evaluation of breeding material is of great importance when creating new high-performance varieties with adaptive potential. The method for assessing ecological plasticity and variants of its stability made it possible to differentiate wheat lines of soft spring competitive testing by their response to changes in gro­wing conditions. For a more optimal selection of breeding material in terms of ecological plasticity and stability, breeding programs should take into account ranked estimates of genotypes. | Мета. Використовуючи статистичні методи, проаналізувати за показниками екологічної пластичності та стабільності лінії конкурсного випробування пшениці м’якої ярої і виявити серед них такі, що вирізняються високою стабільністю врожайності зерна.Методи. Метод оцінки екологічної пластичності та варіанси її стабільності дав змогу диференціювати лінії пшениці м’якої ярої конкурсного випробування за реакцією на зміну умов вирощування. Для оптимальнішого відбору селекційного матеріалу за показниками екологічної пластичності та стабільності у селекційних програмах слід враховувати ранжовані оцінки генотипів.

Purpose. To estimate the ecological plasticity of common millet yield under conditions of Steppe, Forest-Steppe and Forest of Ukraine. Methods. Mathematical and statistical: determination of stability and plasticity by Eberhart &amp; Russell method, correlation analysis. Results. As a result of correlation analysis of millet cultivated areas during the period of 2011–2020, it was revealed that cultivated areas in Ukraine depend on the world ones (r = 0.34). It was determined that a high level of common millet yield was obtained in the forest-steppe zone, namely in Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Sumy and Kharkiv regions (2.20–2.51 t/ha). Quite high rates of yield were obtained in Vinnytsia, Kyiv (Forest-Steppe zone) and Kirovohrad (Steppe zone) regions (1.86–2.02 t/ha). Low yield over 10 years was noted in Rivne, Zhytomyr and Volyn regions, which belong to the Forrest zone (1.09–1.34 t/ha). It is shown that during 2011–2015 high variability of millet yield was observed in Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia and Volyn regions. The coefficient of variation was 42.0–71.3%. During 2016–2020 significant variation was noted in Donetsk, Volyn and Odesa regions. The coefficient of variation was 31.8–43.9%. In the period from 2016 to 2020, high plasticity of the yield trait was noted in Vinnitsa, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Sumy and Khmelnitsky regions. During 2016–2020 high plasticity trait of millet yield was in Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy and Poltava regions. Conclusions. According to the results of the studies, it was found that with a reduction in the area under millet in the world, the volume of its production in Ukraine increases. It was determined that the hig­hest yield of millet was obtained in the Forest-Steppe zone during the years of observation. According to the plasticity of millet yield, it was found that favorable conditions for realization of its biological potential were in Donetsk and Kirovohrad regions of Steppe zone, in Forest-Steppe zone of Vinnytsia, Poltava, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy and Sumy regions. | Мета. Метод оцінки екологічної пластичності та варіанси її стабільності дав змогу диференціювати лінії пшениці м’якої ярої конкурсного випробування за реакцією на зміну умов вирощування. Для оптимальнішого відбору селекційного матеріалу за показниками екологічної пластичності та стабільності у селекційних програмах слід враховувати ранжовані оцінки генотипів.

Мета. Порівняльна оцінка за врожайністю та адаптивністю сортів ячменю ярого Миронівського інституту пшениці імені В. М. Ремесла НААН різних років реєстрації. Методи. Дослідження проведені в Миронівському інституті пшениці імені В. М. Ремесла НААН у 2013–2017 рр. відповідно до загальноприйнятих методик. Об’єкт досліджень – 19 сортів ячменю ярого миронівської селекції зареєстрованих в Україні за період 1995–2017 рр. Для характеристики взаємодії генотип–середовище та диференціації сортів за врожайністю і стабільністю використали низку найбільш поширених підходів: S. A. Eberhart, W. A. Russel (1966); G. Wricke (1962); C. S. Lin, M. R. Binns (1988); M. Huehn (1990); А. В. Кильчевский, Л. В. Хотылёва (1985); В. В. Хангильдин, Н. А. Литвиненко (1981); J. L. Purchase та ін. (2000); AMMI; GGE biplot. Результати. Частка умов року досліджень у загальній варіації становила 83,40%. Достовірні, але суттєво нижчі значення мали генотип – 10,65% та взаємодія генотип–середовище – 5,95%. Перші дві головні компоненти GGE biplot пояснювали дещо більшу частку взаємодії генотип–середовище (85,58%) порівняно з AMMI моделлю (80,9%). Кореляційний аналіз виявив, що середня врожайність (Mean) мала вищесередній зв’язок як з максимальним (Max) (r = 0,69), так і мінімальним (Mіn) (r = 0,72) її значеннями. Сильну позитивну кореляцію Mean виявлено з парамет­рами: СЦГі (r = 0,88), Hom (r = 0,86), Sc (r = 0,82). Дуже сильний негативний зв’язок Mean відзначено з Pi (r = -0,96). Для Max середній негативний зв’язок спостерігали лише з Pi (r = -0,60). Mіn сильно корелювала з Sc (r = 0,96), СЦГі (r = 0,87), Hom (r = 0,84). Негативну сильну кореляцію відзначено Min з Sgi (r = -0,86). Між деякими показниками виявлено зв’язок від функціонального позитивного: δ2CAЗi і Кgi (r = 1,00), Wi і Lgi (r = 0,98), СЦГі і Hom (r = 0,98), СЦГі і Sc (r = 0,96), S2di і Wi (r = 0,96), Wi і ASV (r = 0,94), Sc і Hom (r = 0,94), δ2CAЗi і bi (r = 0,93), S2di і ASV (r = 0,93) до сильного негативного: Sgi іСЦГі (r = -0,94), Sgi і Sc(r = -0,92), Sgi і Hom (r = -0,91), Pi і СЦГі (r = -0,83), Pi і Sc (r = -0,80), Pi і Hom (r = -0,79). Висновки. Системна порівняльна оцінка статистичними і графічними підходами свідчить, що внесені до Державного реєстру сортів рослин, придатних для поширення в Україні у 2016–2017 рр. сорти ячменю ярого ‘Віраж’, ‘Талісман Миронівський’, ‘МІП Мирний’, ‘МІП Салют’, ‘МІП Сотник’, ‘МІП Азарт’, ‘МІП Богун’ переважають створені на попередніх етапах селекційної роботи сорти як за продуктивним, так і адаптивним потенціалом.

Purpose. To give comparative estimation of yield productivity and adaptability of spring barley varieties, deve­loped at the V. M. Remeslo Institute of Wheat of NAAS and included to the State Register of Ukraine during 1995–2017. Methods. The study was carried out at the V. M. Remeslo Institute of Wheat of NAAS during 2013–2017 according to accepted methods. Objects of the research – 19 Myronivka spring barley varieties, registered in Ukraine during 1995–2017. To characterize the “genotype–environment” interaction and varieties differentiation according to productivity and stability, a number of the most used approaches were applied: S. A. Eberhart, W. A. Russel (1966); G. Wricke (1962); C. S. Lin, M. R. Binns (1988); M. Huehn (1990); A.V. Kilchevskiy, L.V. Khotyleva (1985); V. V. Khan­gildin, N. A. Litvinenko (1981); J. L. Purchase et al. (2000); AMMI; GGE biplot. Results.The share of year’s conditions in the common variation was 83.40%. Reliable, but significantly lower values were calculated for genotype – 10.65% and “genotype–environment” interaction – 5.95%. The first two principal components of the GGE biplot explain the slightly higher percentage of the “genotype–environment” interaction (85.58%) in comparison with the AMMI model (80.90%). Correlation analysis revealed above-ave­rage positive interrelation of average productivity (Mean) with the maximum (Max) (r = 0.69) as well as the minimum (Min) (r = 0.72) levels. The strong positive correlation was peculiar to Mean with parameters SVGi (r = 0.88), Hom (r = 0.86), Sc (r = 0.82). The strong negative correlation was registered for Mean with Pi (r = -0.96). For Max only average negative correlation with Pi (r = -0.60) was found. Mіn strongly correlated with Sc (r = 0.96), SVGi (r = 0.87) and Hom (r = 0.84). The strong negative correlation Min with Sgi (r = -0.86) was observed. Between the some indices correlation varied from functional and very strong positive: δ2SAAi and Кgi (r = 1.00), Wi and Lgi (r = 0.98), SVGiand Hom (r = 0.98), SVGiand Sc (r = 0.96), S2diand Wi (r = 0.96), WiandASV(r = 0.94), Sc and Hom (r = 0.94), δ2SAAi and bi (r = 0.93), S2diandASV (r = 0.93) to strong negative: SgiandSVGi (r = -0.94), Sgiand Sc(r = -0.92), Sgiand Hom (r = -0.91), PiandSVGi (r = -0.83), Piand Sc (r = -0.80), Piand Hom (r = -0.79).Conclusions. The systemic comparative estimation with statistical and graphical approaches shows that new spring barley varieties ‘Virazh’, ‘Talisman Myronivskyi’, ‘MIP Myrnyi’, ‘MIP Saliut’, ‘MIP Sotnyk’, ‘MIP Azart’, ‘MIP Bohun’ included to the State Register of Ukraine during 2016–2017 have advantages over older varieties by both productive and adaptive potential. | Цель. Результаты. Доля условий годов исследований в общей вариации была 83,40%. Достоверные, но существенно ниже значение имели генотип – 10,65%, взаимодействие генотип–среда – 5,95%. Первые две главные компоненты GGE biplot объясняли несколько большую долю взаимодействия генотип–среда (85,58%) по сравнению с AMMI моделью (80,90%). Корреляционный анализ выявил вышесреднюю связь средней урожайности (Mean) как с максимальным (Max) (r = 0,69), так и минимальным (Min) (r = 0,72) ее уровнем. Сильную положительную корреляцию Mean имела с параметрами: СЦГі (r = 0,88), Hom (r = 0,86), Sc (r = 0,82). Очень сильная отрицательная связь Mean отмечена с Pi (r = -0,96). Для Max средняя отрицательная корреляция была только с Pi (r = -0,60). Min имела сильную связь с Sc (r = 0,96), СЦГі (r = 0,87), Hom (r = 0,84). Сильную отрицательную корреляцию Min отмечено с Sgi (r = -0,86). Между отдельными показателями установлена связь от функциональной и очень сильной положительной: δ2CACi и Кgi (r = 1,00), Wi и Lgi (r = 0,98), СЦГі и Hom (r = 0,98), СЦГі и Sc (r = 0,96), S2di и Wi (r = 0,96), Wi и ASV (r = 0,94), Sc и Hom (r = 0,94), δ2CAЗi и bi (r = 0,93), S2di и ASV (r = 0,93) до сильной отрицательной: Sgi и СЦГі (r = -0,94), Sgi и Sc (r = -0,92), Sgi и Hom (r = -0,91), Pi и СЦГі (r = -0,83), Pi и Sc (r = -0,80), Pi и Hom (r = -0,79). Plants respond to environmental conditions not only by plastic changes to their own development and physiology, but also by altering the phenotypes expressed by their offspring. This transgenerational plasticity was initially considered to entail only negative effects of stressful parental environments, such as production of smaller seeds by resource- or temperature-stressed parent plants, and was therefore viewed as environmental noise. Recent evolutionary ecology studies have shown that in some cases, these inherited environmental effects can include specific growth adjustments that are functionally adaptive to the parental conditions that induced them, which can range from contrasting states of controlled laboratory environments to the complex habitat variation encountered by natural plant populations. Preliminary findings suggest that adaptive transgenerational effects can be transmitted by means of diverse mechanisms including changes to seed provisioning and biochemistry, and epigenetic modifications such as DNA methylation that can persist across multiple generations. These non-genetically inherited adaptations can influence the ecological breadth and evolutionary dynamics of plant taxa and promote the spread of invasive plants. Interdisciplinary studies that join mechanistic and evolutionary ecology approaches will be an important source of future insights.

To determine the content of biochemical compounds in fruits of M. domestica Borkh. varietal samples, select the most promising ones for use in further breeding, and recommend for use in various directions, given the biochemical complex of signs, taste and marketability of the fruit. Methods. We used generally accepted methods for determining the biochemical composition of fruits (soluble so­lids (SSR) according to GOST (State Standard System) 29030-91, total sugars according to GOST 8756-13.87; polyphenol composition according to the method of L. I. Vigorov (1968), vitamin C according to the method of A I. Ermakov (1972); tit­rated acids – according to GOST 25555.0-82). Results. Nine cultivars of apple trees were analyzed for the biochemical composition of fruits, namely the apple tree cultivar ‘Vydubytska Plakucha’ (‘V. p.’) and various hybrids created on its basis from the collection of the fruit plant acclimatization department of the M. M. Hryshko National Botanical Gardens of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Selected forms are sources of 1–5 important biochemical characteristics (solids content, glucose, sugars, ascorbic acid, titratable acid) and promising for use in breeding. According to the dry matter content – the lowest rate was found in hybrid ‘V. p.’ × ‘Renet Symyrenko’ (16.68%), the highest in the hybrid – ‘V. p.’ × ‘Renet Oranzhevyi Coksa’ (22.87%), rates of ascorbic acid content varied within (6.0–12.25 mg%), total sugars (10.37–18.23), acids (0.74–1,67 respectively). The most interesting for introduction and breeding are hybrids with a high content of biochemical parameters, namely: ‘V. p.’ × ‘Renet Oranzhevyi Coksa’, ‘V. p.’ × ‘Golden Delicious’ and ‘V. p.’ × ‘Parmen Zymovyi Zolotyi’. Conclusions. The content of the biochemical composition of the fruits, taste and marketability were characterized, and varietal samples of hybrids of the apple tree ‘Vydubytska Plakucha’ were distributed in the directions of use in order to improve the quality of life of the population. According to the biochemical indicators of the cluster analysis of the studied apple hybrids, close relationships were found between the three groups necessary in the future for breeding when selecting parental forms for an improved biochemical composition of the fruit (including hybrids ‘V. p.’ × ‘Renet Oranzhevyi Coksa’, ‘V. p.’ × ‘Golden Delicious’ and ‘V. p.’ × ‘Parmen Zymovyi Zolotyi’, titrated acid hybrids ‘V. p.’ × ‘Starkrimson’, ‘V. p.’ × ‘Parmen Zymovyi Zolotyi’ and ‘V. p.’ × ‘Renet Symyrenko’, tannins hybrids ‘V. p.’ × ‘Slava Peremozhtsiam’ and ‘V. p.’ × ‘Starkrimson’); and to expand the assortment of apple trees according to the planned commercial signs. Hybrids of the apple-tree cultivar ‘Vydubytska Plakucha’, created in the NBG using old and valuable modern apple-tree cultivars, indicate the promise of producing high-yielding, large-fruited varieties with a high content of biologically active substances

Определить содержание биохимических соединений в плодах сортообразцов M. domestica Borkh., отоб­рать наиболее перспективные с целью использования в дальнейшей селекции и рекомендовать для применения в различных направлениях, учитывая биохимический комплекс признаков, вкусовые и товарные качества плодов. Методы. Использовали общепринятые методики определения биохимического состава плодов (растворимые сухие вещества (ССР) – по ГОСТ 29030-91; общие сахара – по ГОСТ 8756-13.87; полифенольный состав – по методике Л. И. Вигорова (1968), витамин С – по методике А. И. Ермакова (1972); титрованные кислоты – по ГОСТ 25555.0-82). Результаты. Были проанализированы девять сортообразцов яблони по биохимическому составу плодов, а именно сорт яблони ‘Видубицька плакуча’ и созданные на ее основе различные гибриды из коллекции отдела акклиматизации плодовых растений Национального ботанического сада (НБС) имени Н. Н. Гришко НАН Украины. Отборные формы являются источниками 1–5 важных биохимических признаков (содержание сухих веществ, глюкозы, сахаров, аскорбиновой кислоты, титруемой кислоты) и перспективные для использования в селекции. По содержанию сухого вещества самый низкий показатель обнаружен у гибрида ‘В. п.’ × ‘Ренет Симиренко’ (16,68%), самый высокий – у гибрида ‘В. п.’ × ‘Ренет оранжевый Кокса’ (22,87%), показатели содержания аскорбиновой кислоты варьировали в пределах 6,0–12,25 мг%, общие сахара – 10,37–18,23, кислоты – 0,74–1,67, соответственно). Наибольший интерес для интродукции и селекции составляли гибриды с высоким комплексом содержания биохимических показателей, а именно: ‘В. п.’ × ‘Ренет оранжевый Кокса’, ‘В. п.’ × ‘Голден Делишес’ и ‘В. п.’ × ‘Пармен зимний золотой’. Выводы. Охарактеризованы содержание биохимического состава плодов, вкусовые и товарные качества и распределены сортообразцы гибридов яблони ‘Видубицька плакуча’ по направлениям использования для улучшения качества жизни населения. По биохимическим показателям в результате кластерного анализа исследованных гибридов яблони обнаружены плотные взаимосвязи трех групп, необходимых в будущем для селекции при отборе родительских форм на улучшенный биохимический состав плодов (в частности, по высокому содержанию сухого вещества выделено гибриды ‘В. п.’ × ‘Ренет оранжевый Кокса’, ‘В. п.’ × ‘Голден Делишес’ и ‘В. п.’ × ‘Пармен зимний золотой’, по содержанию тит­руемых кислот – гибриды ‘В. п.’ × ‘Старкримсон’, ‘В. п.’ × ‘Пармен зимний золотой’ и ‘В. п.’ × ‘Ренет Симиренко’ по содержанию дубильных веществ – гибриды ‘В. п.’ × ‘Слава Победителям’ и ‘В. п.’ × ‘Старкримсон’) и для расширения сортимента яблонь по запланированным коммерческим признакам. Созданные в НБС гибриды сорта яблони ‘Видубицька плакуча’ с использованием старых и ценных современных сортов яблони свидетельствуют о перспективности получения высокоурожайных, крупноплодных сортов с высоким содержанием биологически активных веществ. | Мета. Визначити вміст біохімічних сполук у плодах сорто-зразків M. domestica Borkh., відібрати найперспективніші для використання у подальшій селекції та рекомендувати для застосування у різних напрямках, враховуючи комплекс біохімічних ознак, смакові і товарні якості плодів.Методи. Використовували загальноприйняті методики визначення біохімічного складу плодів: розчинні сухі речовини – за ГОСТ 29030-91; загальні цукри – за ГОСТ 8756-13.87; поліфенольний склад – за методикою Л. И. Вигорова (1968); вітамін С – за методикою А. И. Ермакова та ін. (1972); титровані кислоти – за ГОСТ 25555.0-82.Результати. Було проаналізовано дев’ять сортозразків яблуні за біохімічним складом плодів, а саме сорт яблуні ‘Видубицька плакуча’ (‘В. п.’) та створені на її основі різні гібриди із колекції відділу акліматизації плодових рослин Національного ботанічного саду (НБС) імені М. М. Гришка НАН України. Плоди збирали за їхньої комерційної зрілості. Добрані форми є джерелами 1–5 важливих біохімічних ознак (вміст сухих речовин, глюкози, цукрів, аскорбінової кислоти, титрованої кислоти) і перспективні для використання у селекції. За вмістом сухої речовини найнижчий показник було виявлено у гібрида ‘В. п.’ × ‘Ренет Симиренка’ (16,68%), найвищий – у гібрида ‘В. п. ’ × ‘Ренет оранжевий Кокса’ (22,87%), показники вмісту аскорбінової кислоти варіювали в межах 6,0–12,25 мг%, загальні цукри – 10,37–18,23, кислоти – 0,74–1,67, відповідно. Найцікавішими для інтродукції та селекції були гібриди із найвищим комплексом вмісту біохімічних показників, а саме: ‘В. п. ’ × ‘Ренет оранжевий Кокса’, ‘В. п.’ × ‘Голден Делішес’ та ‘В. п.’ × ‘Пармен зимовий золотий’.Висновки. Охарактеризовано вміст біохімічного складу плодів, їхні смакові і товарні якості і розподілено сортозразки гібридів яблуні ‘Видубицька плакуча’ за напрямами використання для покращення якості життя населення. За біохімічними показниками у результаті кластерного аналізу досліджених гібридів яблуні було виявлено щільні взаємозв’язки, які необхідні у майбутньому для селекції під час відбору батьківських форм на поліпшений біохімічний склад плодів (зокрема, за високим умістом сухої речовини виділено гібриди ‘В. п.’ × ‘Ренет оранжевий Кокса’, ‘В. п.’ × ‘Голден Делішес’ та ‘В. п.’ × ‘Пармен зимовий золотий’; за вмістом титрованих кислот – гібриди ‘В. п.’ × ‘Старкримсон’, ‘В. п.’ × ‘Пармен зимовий золотий’ та ‘В. п.’ × ‘Ренет Симиренка’; за вмістом дубильних речовин – гібриди ‘В. п.’ × ‘Слава Переможцям’ та ‘В. п.’ × ‘Старкримсон’) та для розширення сор­тименту яблунь за запланованими комерційними ознаками. Створені у НБС гібриди сорту яблуні ‘Видубицька плакуча’ з використанням старих та цінних сучасних сортів яблуні свідчать про перспективність отримання високоврожайних, великоплідних сортів з високим умістом біологічно активних речовин.

It was revealed that in the conditions of introduction ‘Morning Lilac’ and ‘Sonoma Apricot’ bloom first (May 19–20), ‘Viking Full Moon’, ‘Yankee Doodle Dandy’, ‘Yellow Waterlily’ bloom later (May 28). The height of generative shoots of plants in flowe­ring phase ranged from 60 to90 cm. Plants go dormant in winter, having formed generative shoots that successfully winter. Reproduction of plants occurs both due to the buds that form on the lower part of the stem, and the buds that form on the rhizome. The shoot-forming ability and flowering productivity are 6.0±2.5 – 19.5±4.0 shoots and 4.5±1.5 – 16.0±3.0 generative shoots per plant, respectively. Cultivars ‘First Arrival’, ‘Sonoma Apricot’, ‘Hillary’, ‘Bartzella’, ‘Morning Lilac’, ‘Lollipop’, ‘Old Rose Dandy’ are highly productive. Conclusions. The collection of peonies of the M. M. Hryshko National Botanical Garden National Botanical Garden National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has been expanded by Itoh Group cultivars. The R. Anderson’s breeds of 1980–1990 are more fully represented. An analysis of the ornamental features of the varieties showed that the hybrids with a semi-double flower shape of a yellow color dominate the collection. Cultivars retain all their ornamental and economic characteristics under conditions of introduction. The Itoh group varieties of the collection can be material for developing technologies for their cultivation and propagation, can be a source of replenishment and expansion of regional botanical gardens collections, planting material for gardening and landscaping, and also perform an educational and cognitive function.

В условиях интродукции ранее всего (19–20 мая) зацветали сорта ‘Morning Lilac’ и ‘Sonoma Apricot’, позже всего (28 мая) – ‘Viking Full Moon’, ‘Yankee Doodle Dandy’, ‘Yellow Waterlily’. Высота генеративных побегов растений в фазу цветения колебалась в пределах 60–90 см. Растения входили в состояние зимнего покоя, имея сформированные генеративные побеги, которые успешно зимовали. Возобновление растений происходило как за счет почек, заложенных на нижней части стебля, так и за счет почек, которые формировались на корневище. Побегообразующая способность и продуктивность цветения составляла 6,0±2,5–19,5±4,0 побегов и 4,5±1,5–16,0±3,0 генеративных побегов на растение соответственно. Высокопродуктивными были сорта: ‘First Arrival’, ‘Sonoma Apricot’, ‘Hillary’, ‘Bartzella’, ‘Morning Lilac’, ‘Lollipop’, ‘Old Rose Dandy’.Выводы. Коллекцию пионов Национального ботанического сада имени Н. Н. Гришко НАН Украины пополнено сортами группы Ито. Максимально полно представлено селекцию Р. Андерсона 1980–1990 гг. В коллекции преобладают гибриды с полумахровой формой цветка желтой окраски. В условиях интродукции сорта сохраняют все свои декоративные и хозяйственно-биологические характеристики. Собранные в коллекции сорта Ито-группы могут использовать для разработки технологии их культивирования и размножения, быть источником пополнения и расширения коллекций региональных ботанических садов, посадочного материала для садоводства и озеленения, выполнять учебно-познавательную функцию | Мета. В умовах інтродукції найраніше (19–20 травня) зацвітали сорти ‘Morning Lilac’ та ‘Sonoma Apricot’, найпізніше (28 травня) – ‘Viking Full Moon’, ‘Yankee Doodle Dandy’, ‘Yellow Waterlily’. Висота генеративних пагонів рослин у фазу цвітіння коливалася в межах 60–90 см. Рослини входили у стан зимового спокою із сформованими генеративними пагонами, які успішно зимували. Поновлення рослин відбувалось як за рахунок бруньок, закладених на нижній частині стебла, так і за рахунок бруньок, які формувались на кореневищі. Пагоноутворювальна здатність та продуктивність цвітіння на третій рік культивування становила 6,0±2,5–19,5±4,0 пагонів та 4,5±1,5–16,0±3,0 генеративних пагонів на рослину, відповідно. Високопродуктивними були сорти: ‘First Arrival’, ‘Sonoma Apricot’, ‘Hillary’, ‘Bartzella’, ‘Morning Lilac’, ‘Lollipop’, ‘Old Rose Dandy’. Висновки. Колекцію півоній Національного ботанічного саду імені М. М. Гришка розширено сортами групи Іто. Максимально повно представлено селекцію Р. Андерсона 1980–1990 рр. У колекції переважають гібриди з напівмахровою формою квітки жовтого забарвлення. В умовах інтродукції сорти зберігають усі свої декоративні та господарсько-біологічні характеристики. Зібрані в колекції сорти Іто-групи можуть використовувати для розроблення технології їхнього культивування та розмноження, бути джерелом поповнення та розширення колекцій регіональних ботанічних садів, садивного матеріалу для садівництва та озеленення, виконувати навчально-пізнавальну функцію.

Methods. Field (phenology); laboratory (biochemical, technological); mathematical and statistical (linear correlation, regression). Results. Consumer qualities and patterns of their formation under the influence of the biochemical composition of tubers were studied. Excellent taste was determined in mid-early (‘203.703-3’, ‘205.781-9’), mid-season (‘205.786-72’, ‘205. 798-15’) hybrids. High cooking quality of the tubers was detected in early-season hybrids (‘99.523-15’, ‘205.791-3’, ‘205.785-25’, ‘205.792-205’). Soft crispy texture was detected in mid-early (‘205.776-25’, ‘99.546-3’) and mid-season (‘205.782-24’, ‘205.786-72’, ‘205.798-43’) hybrids. The mid-early hybrid '205.780-8' contained high levels of starch. In terms of resistance to browning, three early-season (‘99.517-39’, ‘203.703-2’, ‘205.785-25’) and two mid-season hybrids (‘205.781-9’, ‘205.788-3’) were selected.  It is proved, that the taste development depended on the starch content (r=0,657), proportion of starch/protein (r=0,470) and sugars accumulation (r= -450). The positive dependence of the cooking quality of the tubers on their starchiness (r=0,945), proportion of starch and protein (r=0,900) was detected. The influence of proportion of starch/protein over the texture of the tubers (r=0,877) and starch content (r=0,868) was established. Mealiness depended on sugars (r= -0,494) and starch content (r=0,474), resistance to browning – on tyrosine content in protein (r=-0,873) and free tyrosine content (r= - 0,824). In terms of culinary and consumer type of food (table) potatoes, eight hybrids were rated as type B, five and five hybrids belonged to types A and C respectively, and three hybrids belonged to type D. Conclusions. The selected, as for the high level of culinary quality indicators, hybrids can be recommended as valuable output material for practical plant breeding. Determination of biological interrelation of potato culinary quality indicators and biochemical composition of their tubers allowed to develop mathematical simulations to predict taste and texture, and it practically relieved from boiling and subjective evaluation by organoleptic method of tasting results. Systematization of culinary and consumer type food (table) potatoes can be a subject matter in the course of state variety testing.

Высокую устойчивость к развариванию клубней было установлено у раннеспелых гибридов (‘99.523-15’, ‘205.791-3’, ‘205.785-25’, ‘205.792-205’). Мягкая рассыпчатая консистенция была характерна для среднеранних (‘205.776-2’, ‘99.546-3’) и среднеспелых (‘205.782-24’, ‘205.786-72’, ‘205.798-43’) форм. Среднеранний гибрид ‘205.780-8’ имел высокую степень проявления мучнистости. Устойчивость к потемнению имели три раннеспелых (‘99 .517-39’, ‘203.703-2’, ‘205.785-25’) и два среднеспелых гибрида (‘205.781-9’, ‘205.788-3’). Формирование вкуса зависело в основном от содержания крахмала (r = 0,657), соотношения крахмал / белок (r = 0,470) и накопления сахаров (r = -450). Была обнаружена сильная положительная зависимость разваривания клубней от их крахмалистости (r = 0,945), соотношения содержания крахмала и белка (r = 0,900). Определено влияние соотношения крахмал / белок на консистенцию клубней (r = 0,877) и содержания в них крахмала (r = 0,868). Мучнистость зависела от сахаров (r = -0,494) и крахмалистости клубней (r = 0,474), устойчивость к потемнению мякоти – от содержания тирозина в белке (r = -0,873) и свободного тирозина (r = - 0,824). По кулинарно-потребительскому типу столового картофеля восемь гибридов было отнесено к типу В, по пять – к типу А и С, три – к типу Д.Выводы. Выделенные гибриды с высокой степенью проявления показателей потребительского качества могут быть рекомендованы как ценный исходный материал для практической селекции. Определение биологической взаимосвязи показателей качества картофеля и биохимического состава их клубней позволило разработать математические модели для прогнозирования вкуса и текстуры, что практически освобождает от варки и субъективной оценки органолептическим методом результатов дегустации. Систематизация кулинарно-потребительского типа картофеля столового назначения может быть предметом обсуждения в государственном сортоиспытании. | Мета. На основі дослідження споживчої якості перспективних гібридів картоплі (Solanum tuberosum L.) виділити гібриди з високим ступенем диференціації залежно від біохімічного складу бульб та кулінарно-споживчого типу.Методи. Польовий (фенологія); лабораторний (біохімічні, технологічні); математично-статистичний (лінійна кореляція, регресія).Результати. Досліджували кулінарні якості та вивчали закономірності їхнього формування під впливом біохімічного складу бульб. Відмінний смак було визначено у середньоранніх (‘203.703-3’, ‘205.781-9’) і середньостиглих (‘205.786-72’, ‘205.798-15’) гібридів. Високу стійкість до розварювання бульб було виявлено у ранньостиглих гібридів (‘99.523-15’, ‘205.791-3’, ‘205.785-25’, ‘205.792-205’). М’якою консистенцією характеризувалися середньоранні (‘205.776-25’, ‘99.546-3’) і середньостиглі (‘205.782-24’, ‘205.786-72’, ‘205.798-43’) форми. Середньоранній гібрид ‘205.780-8’ мав вищий ступінь проявлення борошнистості. За стійкістю до потемніння м’якоті було виділено три ранньостиглих (‘99.517-39’, ‘203.703-2’, ‘205.785-25’) і два середньостиглих гібриди (‘205.781-9’, ‘205.788-3’). Формування смаку залежало здебільшого від умісту крохмалю (r = 0,657), співвідношення крохмаль / білок (r = 0,470) і накопичення цукрів (r = -450). Було виявлено сильну позитивну залежність розварювання бульб від їхньої крохмалистості (r = 0,945) та співвідношення вмісту крохмалю і білка (r = 0,900). Визначено вплив співвідношення кромаль / білок на консистенцію бульб (r = 0,877) та вміст крохмалю (r = 0,868). Борошнистість залежала від умісту цукрів (r = -0,494) та крохмалистості бульб (r = 0,474), стійкість до потемніння м’якоті – від умісту тирозину у білку (r = -0,873), вільного тирозину (r = -0,824). За кулінарно-споживчим типом столової картоплі вісім гібридів було віднесено до типу В, по п’ять – до типів А і С, три – до типу Д.Висновки. Виділені гібриди за високим ступенем проявлення показників кулінарної якості можуть бути рекомендовані як цінний вихідний матеріал для практичної селекції. Встановлення біологічного взаємозв’язку показників кулінарної якості картоплі і біохімічного складу їхніх бульб дозволило розробити математичні моделі для прогнозування смаку і текстури, що практично звільняє від варіння та суб’єктивного оцінювання органолептичним методом результатів дегустації. Систематизація кулінарно-споживчого типу картоплі столового призначення може бути предметом обговорення за державного сортовипробування.
