[Character of pollution and longtime variations of Tamis river water quality]
1997
Cukic, Z. (Univerzitet u Novom Sadu, Novi Sad (Yugoslavia). Prirodno-matematicki fakultet, Institut za hemiju) | Kilibarda, P. | Kojcic, K. | Jovanovic, D.
In this paper, the results of statistical analysis of then years water quality data of Tamis river at the Romanian-Yugoslav border ("Jasa Tomic" Control Station) are presented. Following changes of analyzed water quality parameters at the Romanian-Yugoslav border a strong trend of deterioration has been observed during analyzed period. Because of periodical accidentally high organic content (COD, BOD) and concentration of ammonia and organic nitrogen in river water, it is concluded that upstream discharging of farm waste waters was the main reason of deterioration of water quality along the Yugoslav part of Tamis river.

1997
Popovic, M. | Janac, M. (Institut za vodoprivredu "Jaroslav Cerni", Beograd (Yugoslavia))
Thermal stratification is regularly found in deep lakes, while shallow water bodies remain usually mixed. Despite comparative shallowness, Sava lake (artificial lake), Serbia (Yugoslavia) exibit a prolonged summer stable stratification. Temperature differences between epilimnion and hypolimnion can reach 10 deg C. The steep gradients of up to 3.5 deg C/meter recorded in the metalimnion. The highest differences during a single typical summer day was 1.7 deg C between 0.2 and 0.5 m. Maximum annual thermal accumulation was 112440 J/square cm in 1996.

1997
Ristic, R. | Kadovic, R. (Sumarski fakultet, Beograd (Yugoslavia))
Products of wet and dry deposition of aero-pollutants, reached by over-boundary or internal-boundary transport, are significant source of pollution, almost, whole territory of Serbia (Yugoslavia). Products of wet and dry deposition endangere surface storages in two ways: (1) directly, by deposition on surface storages; (2) indirectly, by deposition on surface of catchment areas, and further transporting through hydrographic system. In the period 1992-1996 investigations were carried out at some localities in Serbia (Yugoslavia). Their results show that recorded quantities significantly over pass MDK (maximal permitted quantity). Investigations included analysis of samples of precipitation (rain and snow), soil and sediment from hydrographic system.

1997
Djukic, N. | Miljanovic, B. | Maletin, S. | Ivanc, A. (Prirodno-matematicki fakultet, Novi Sad (Yugoslavia). Institut za biologiju)
During the period 1977-1996, Oligochaeta have been studied as indicator of water quality in the Bajski canal, Serbia (Yugoslavia). The locality was characterized by the 13 species from nine genera and two families - Naididae and Tubificidae. Species in genera Limnodrilus, Potamothrix and Branchiura were dominant, defining the environment as natural eutrophic.

Marinkov, Lj. (Institut za bakar, Bor (Yugoslavia). Zavod za PMS, Odelenje za hidrotehniku) | Trajkovic, S. (Univerzitet u Nisu, Nis (Yugoslavia). Gradjevinski fakultet)
The article gives review of concentration of copper in the water of the Bor lake basin. Content of copper in the mud on the bottom of lake and content of copper in the aerosol are analysed. The investigations have shown that the Bor lake is not polluted by copper.

1997
Pavlovic, D. | Vukmirovic, V. (Univerzitet u Beogradu, Beograd (Yugoslavia). Gradjevinski fakultet, Institut za hidrotehniku)
Low flows are a good measure of the waste water recipient self-purification capability. The regional statistical analysis is an objective way of assessment of the required low flows. This paper presents the principles and key phases of the regional statistical analysis. The advantages of this method are a reduction of the outliers influence and the assessment of low flows on ungauged streams and stream profiles. The method is illustrated with the results obtained by the required low flows regional statistical analysis in Serbia (Yugoslavia) with 59 hydrological gauge stations in the scope, which data has the same length of 39 years, from the year 1956 to 1994.

1997
Pasalic, S. | Grbavcic, M. | Barbic, F. | Pljakic, E. (Institut za tehnologiju nuklearnih i drugih mineralnih sirovina, Beograd (Yugoslavia))
Over the last several years, the investigations of the natural zeolites application in the sorption processes have been intensified. Purification of waste waters in order to remove lead, cadmium, copper and other heavy metals, is one significant example of such application. In this paper, the investigations results on characteristics of the natural and chemically activated zeolites from the region of Vranje (Serbia, Yugoslavia), are presented. The experiments with zeolites were performed after determination of their physico-chemical characteristics. Adsorptive characteristics were investigated under laboratory conditions, in a liquid medium, depending on granulation and concentration of the heavy metals. As the obtained results show, these natural materials can be used to remove heavy metals from the waste waters.

1997
Rankovic, B. | Simic, S. (Prirodno-matematicki fakultet, Kragujevac (Yugoslavia). Institut za biologiju)
During hydrobiological investigations of the river Dulenska (Serbia, Yugoslavia) in June 1996, algological samples were taken at this river. In the algae community are found 34 taxa from two divisio: Bacillariophyta (28) and Chlorophyta (6). While qualitative composition of the algae colony was relativelly uniformed quantitative one was changeable along the course of the Dulenska river. By saprobiological analysis, it was found that the quality of water was changing along the course of the river. At the upper and middle course of river the water belonging to the second class. At lower course of the river (below Rekovac) water quality was getfing worse and it belonging to the third class.

1997
Vukmirovic, V. | Petrovic, J. | Lazic, R. (Univerzitet u Beogradu, Beograd (Yugoslavia). Gradjevinski fakultet)
Drought characteristics (minimum flows, drought duration and volume deficit) of the Moraca river near Podgorica, Montenegro (Yugoslavia) are analyzed using the peaks over threshold method based on renewal processes. It is also shown that volume deficit and drought duration are highly correlated.

1997
Belic, S. (Poljoprivredni fakultet, Novi Sad (Yugoslavia). Institut za uredjenje voda) | Belic, A. | Bugarski, R.
Neither soil nor water has very distinct function when seen in isolation. Therefore, analyses of water and soil can get real value only by their linkages. Taking into consideration irrigated land, water and soil interaction degree can cause different changes of soil, plants and aquifer A. All negative changes which are occur in the soil (in case of using unsuitable water quality for irrigation or applying of not rational fertilizers amount) have influence to the changes aquifer A quality. Interaction between soil and aquifer A are require investigation of groundwater quality changes relating to plant production, especially in irrigation. Intensity and type of aquifer A properties change, in case of different soil use in agricultural production, have been studying since 1991 at the Lysimetric Station Rimski Sancevi (Serbia, Yugoslavia). The results are point out satisfactory quality of aquifer A after irrigation with wastewater and well water, and applying of different mineral fertilizers amount. The soil capability to receive water with unsuitable quality, to influence their change and change of aquifer A quality as the final recipient, are showed by received results.
