Due to a great amount of environmental differences between in vitro and ex vitro conditions, the acclimatization phase of plantlets is one of the essential points to guarantee the success in obtaining micropropagated plants. Using a substrate with chemical and organic composition is important on this phase, because it will influence in the nutritional state of the seedlings. The present paper aimed to evaluate the effects of different substrate on acclimatization of fig plants 'Roxo de Valinhos'. It were selected uniform plantlets within a 5 cm of height which were transferred to the greenhouse, with an intermittent mist system, with 50% mesh of shadow by sombrite® planted in stereo foam trays where were submitted to the following treatments: Plantmax®; carbonized rice husk; soil in combination with Osmocote®; manure (3:1:1); NPKMg. The experimental design adopted was randomized blocks in factorial scheme and the evaluation was done one hundred and twenty days after the acclimatization by the following characteristics: plant high (cm), number of leaves/plant, dry weight of aerial part and roots and total weight (g/plant). As results, it was verified that on the acclimatization of fig plantlets 'Roxo de Valinhos' using of substrate soil + carbonized rice husk+ manure promotted highest number of leaves and largest weight of aerial dry matter were obtained Plantmax® substrate without any addition of fertilizers.

O objective this work was to estimated genotypic, phenotypic and environmental among traits of melon. Six hybrids of melon and their fifteen populations in diallel crosses were evaluated in a randomized complete block design with three replications. The traits assessed were yield, number total of fruits, average fruit weight, longitudinal diameter, transversal diameter, pulp thickness, pulp firmness and soluble solids content. The correlations between yield and total number fruit and yield and average fruit weight were positives. The total number exhibited negative correlation with average fruit weight and solids soluble content. The correlations of the solids soluble content with average fruit weight, pulp thickness and pulp firmness ware positives. However, pulp firmness and pulp thickness exhibited association negative. The undesirable associations detected in the present work were not sufficiently strong, indicating that is possible to obtain recombinants individuals in the segregating populations evaluated.

Brazil possesss potential for attainment of great amounts of apicultural products, what it differentiates it of the too much countries that, normally, harvests an only time per year. However despite the diversity of the apicultural flora and the high existing food concentration in the rainy period, during the dry station, a scarcity of apicultural grass e occurs, consequently, of food for the bees being necessary a complementary feeding of this form assuring the productivity and the profits. The feeding of the bees of course is very selective, them is adapted in the adult phase to an feeding eliminates, however, these unbalanced fluids little is concentrated and its composition with predominance of sugars, thus needing complementing in the diet with a rich food in proteins as form is pólen.Dessa is necessary to know foods conventional and alternative for the period of between harvest diminishing the loss of the brief produção.Esta revision presents excellent aspects of the feeding of the bees relating its chemical composition, nutritional value and functional properties.

The passion fruit tree (Passiflora edulis Sims f. flavicarpa Deg.) is a fruitful tree whose the propagation usually is made for seeds. With the objective to study the possible effects allelopathy of neem in the physiologic aspects in germination of seeds of passion fruit in the different periods of storage. Was carried at UFERSA. For the acquisition of powder of neem, it was used plants located in institution. In the obtaining of seeds of passion fruits, it was used in natura fruits bought in the local supermarket; this seeds were extracted of fruits for fermentation. It was placed 50g of seeds of passion fruits together with each measure of powder of leaves of neem (0; 0,25; 0,50; 0,75; 1,0 g of powder of leaves of neem / 50 g of seeds of passion fruits). It was utilized the randomized design in esquire of portions subdivides, where the portions was composed of five dosages of powder of leaves neem.

The increasing importance of sunflower leads to studies on seed pathogen, to guarantee crop sanity and to provide identification of pathogens in new areas. Genotypes seeds lots produced in Embrapa Soja assays carried out in tree cities of the State of Maranhão, Brazil (Balsas, São Luís and Timon) were analyzed, with the objective of evaluating sanitary quality of sunflower seeds. Sanitary analysis was performed by blotter test method and identification of fungi genera was based on morphological features. The occurrence of Fusarium sp., Alternaria spp., Curvularia sp., Dreschelera sp., Aspergillus sp., Penicillium sp., Phoma sp., Trichoderma sp., Botrytis sp., Rhizoctonia sp., Rhizopus sp., Colletotrichum sp., Chaetomium sp., Cladosporium sp. and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum was observed in seeds of sunflower, with variable incidences.

The present work aimed to study the environment genotype interaction and estimate the componentssimple and complex of interaction as well as identify watermelon cultivars with phenotypic stability. Seven cultivars of watermelon were evaluated in six environments during the years of 1996, 1997 and 1998 in two location of Rio Grande do Norte State. The trait evaluated was the commercial fruits yield. The interaction Cultivar x Year wasn¿t significant, amount only to 3, 26 % of the total sum of square sum total of the source of variation. There wasn't interaction Cultivar x Location significant, however it explained 11,68 % of the total variation. The triple interaction was significant and explained 13,67 % of the total observed variation. The simple component was responsible for the most part of Cultivar x Environment interaction with about 61% of the total variation. The hybrid Jetstream had the best perfeormance with linear regression coeficient equal to unit, with regression deviation not significant, high coeficient of determination and average yield above the check.

Ecosystem's aquatic metabolism comprises three main levels: production, consumption and decomposition. For the aquaculture fundament the knowledge and accompaniment of the biotic and abiotic factors for a sustainable production. The study evaluated the dynamics of variables limnologics in ponds: Colossoma macropomun (CM) and Pseudoplatystoma corruscans (PC), during a 24hs. The work was accomplished in the Station of Fish farming of Chesf, Paulo Afonso-BA. The variables oxygen (O2), temperature (T°C) and pH were measured every two hours, shines and transparency. Samples of water were analysis ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, inorganic and organic phosphate, total phosphors, chlorophyll a, identification of the plankton and phytobenthos were collected at 09:00, 15:00 and 21:00hs. All the variables physical-chemistries were inside of the ideal for culture species. The group phytoplankton most frequent no CM was Cyanophyta and Bacillariophyta. while in PC was Xanthophyta. The group phytobentic most frequent no CM was Xanthophyta, while in PC was Bacillariophyta. The group of Copepods was the most evident zooplankton in CM and there was absence of Rotifers in PC.

The current work has as objective to determine and compare the variation of basic density of the wood throughout the stem of Psychotria cf. Sessilis, specie belonging to the Rubiaceae family and known popularly as grandiuva d'anta. The sample was performed in three selected trees at random in Dense Ombrophila Forest, in the municipality of Apiuna and Presidente Nereu Ramos - SC. The trees were knocked and they had its dendometric variables measured. The basic density was determined in samples 1,5 x 1,5 x 5 cm, taken from inside of the disc (cerne) and from the outside (alburno), being these collected next to chest (DAP), 0%, 10%, 50%,75%, 95% from the point of morphologic inversion, above this, two samples with branches named G1 and G2 were collected. The basic density was obtained through the relation between drought weight and green volume of samples and showing itself growing from the base to the top of the tree. In the analyze of variance's performance (ANOVA) was not able to be verified differences statistically significant between the averages in densities along the log and the branches, the average basic density was 0,426 g.cm3. The uniformity found to the basic density along the stem is a characteristic gives the specie stability and security for its use in structural projects, however it's needed deeper studies to better scientific fundaments of its physical and technological properties.

The soil fertility and plant nutrition are influenced by electrochemical reactions occurring on the surface of soil colloids. The point of zero salt effect (PZSE) is an important parameter to study the surface charge of those colloids, since, it allows to determine the net surface charge of soil particles. This paper aimed to determine the PZSE and the net electrical charge of twelve soils from Paraíba State, which samples were collected at the depth of 0-30 cm. The point of zero salt effect was determined using program computational PZSE for Windows version 1.0. The method adopted was the potentiometric titration with different ionic strength using electrolyte NaCl in concentrations 0.1; 0.01 and 0.001 M. The use of the program has a better analysis and accuracy of the values obtained for the PZSE, which ranged from 3.06 to 5.41. All soils had values of PZSE smaller than the pH in water, being, therefore, electronegative. All soils had the potential and the electrical charge negative, possibly due to the effect of organic matter once it presented significant correlation with PZSE.

With the objective of increasing the percentile of rooted cuttings and the quality of the newly formed root system through the treatment of cuttings with AIB and sucrose, the present study took place. The experiment was conducted in an intermittent mist chamber located in the experimental orchard at UFLA, in Lavras, MG. The herbaceous cuttings of cv. Paluma were collected in the orchard of UFLA in March of 1999. The prepared cuttings with 2 nodes and 1 pair of leaves reduced to half were treated with AIB in immersion for 24 hours at concentrations of 0, 100, 200 and 300 mg.L-1, 2% sucrose being added or not. After the treatment the cuttings were planted in polyethylene sacks with sand as a substrate. The layout used was it entirely casual with 4 repetitions and 15 cuttings per plot. From the evaluations it was concluded that: a) the concentration of 300 mg.L-1 of AIB provided the best result for the percentage of rooted cuttings as well as for the number and average weight of the dry root matter. b) The presence sucrose didn't present a significant effect on the characteristics analyzed. c) The simple permanence of the leaves on the cuttings didn't influence their rooting. d) In those cuttings treated with 300 mg.L-1 of AIB, it was not necessary for the leaves to persist for 60 days.
