Growth and mortality rates and state of exploitation of spiny lobsters in Tonga (1992). Полный текст
1992
Munro, J.L.
An analysis was made of length frequency data for the spiny lobsters, Panulirus penicillatus and P. longipes, caught coral reefs in Tonga. The length data were used to estimate both growth and mortality parameters for populations taught around the main island, Tongatapu, and, the Ha'apai islands in the centre of the Tonga archipelago.

Bio-economic stability of the North Sea shrimp stock with endogenous fishing effort
1992
McDonald, A.D. | Hanf, C.H.
A continuous stochastic model with endogenous effort is used to describe the German component of the North Sea shrimp fishery. Empirical estimates are obtained using annual data over a 25-year period. These estimates are conditioned on a number of fixed coefficients taken from other studies but are indicative of good model performance. The fishery has not been subject to increasing fishing effort over the study period, and the shrimp stock does not appear to have fallen over time.

1992
Butler, Richard Stanley
This project briefly traces fisheries management in New Zealand through to the present system of management. This project begins with a brief description of the fish species present in New Zealand. The system of fisheries management and ownership employed in pre-European Maori society is described. The response of the European colonists to the New Zealand environment is traced through to the motivation behind the forming of the acclimatisation societies in the Nineteenth Century. The legislation used to protect the introduced fish and other historical government involvement in freshwater fisheries management implications is traced. The Treaty of Waitangi and the implications this treaty has over ownership of the freshwater fisheries resource are discussed.
