This experiment was to study the effect of seasonal changes on the productivity of the native reed (Phragmites communis trinius). The content of crude protein and in vitro dry-matter digestibility (IVD) decreased and the content of fiber increased with ageing. There was a significant negative correlation (p0.05) between the content of crude protein and crude fiber. There was a significant positive correlation (p0.05) between IVD and the content of crude protein, and also a significant negative correlation (p0.05) with the content of fiber
