A contribution to the investigation of the influence of carbohydrate constituent in food on metabolism of protein

In order to define the influence of carbohydrate upon the metabolism of proteins, there has been monitored the effect of introducing different carbohydrate components of food (glucose, lactose, saccharose, starch) upon the metabolism of proteins in some tissues (blood plasma, liver, small intestine) where the protein component is not changed and is made up of a mash with plant (peptone soybean) and animal (lactalbumin) proteins.
