This study evaluates the changes in a number of behavioral and physiological parameters in red deer during velveting (antler removal) and associated handling procedures. The overall aim is to develop objective measures for assessing the relative stressfulness of routine practices. Physiological parameters used were electrocardiogram (ECG) recordings, and blood glucose, lactate and progesterone levels
