Describes the Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, Tb control programme for the 1990s which centres on the early detection and elimination of infected possum, Trichosurus vulpecula, communities and the prevention of non-endemic tuberculosis. It requires public awareness and co-operation to succeed. The Hawkes Bay Regional Animal Health Advisory Committee (RAHAC) has the vital role of co-ordinating the efforts of the various groups.
