The total phosphorus content of meat products was determined from partially digested samples. It was shown that about 8 % of the total phosphorus content could not be measured in this way. However, for practical purposes, it is often necessary to use partial digestion for preliminary treatment of the samples. In this case, a correction factor has to be used for the correct estimation of the true total phosphorus content
