The model of desorption isotherm of cardamon and the analysis of cardamon oil quality

英语. The model of desorption isotherm for each commodity was unique, its depend on temperature relative humidity and the variety of that commodity. The cardamon as the producer of vetiver oil has been dried before next processing. This research was aimed to determine the equilibrium of moisture content and the drying coefficient, finding the mathematical model for desorption isotherm in that connection by the sun drying. The methodology used was numerical analysis and using some mathematical model for sorption isotherm, either theoriticaly or empiricaly. The result of this research showed that the GAB and Henderson model have the best accuracy in describing the graphics of desorption isotherm of cardamon. While the BET model just for interval of water activity 0.6-0.8. The yield of cardamon oil was 3.88-7.02 percent and the specific component of this oil was 1,8-sineol (72.01-79.41 percent).

印度尼西亚. Model desorpsi isotermi untuk setiap komoditas pertanian adalah unik, tergantung pada suhu dan kelembaban lingkungan serta jenis dan varietas bahan yang bersangkutan. Kapulaga sebagai penghasil minyak atsiri mengalami proses desorpsi sebelum diproses lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar air keseimbangan dan koefisien pengeringan kapulaga, mencari dan mempelajari bentuk model matematik desorpsi isotermi dalam hubungannya dengan pengertian serta mempelajari sifat mutu minyaknya. Pengeringan kapulaga dilakukan dengan cara penjemuran dan metode yang digunakan adalah metode analisis numerik serta pendekatan terhadap model-model sorpsi isotermi, baik teoritis maupun empiris. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model GAB dan Henderson memiliki tingkat ketepatan yang tinggi dalam menggambarkan pola desorpsi isotermi kapulaga. Sedangkan model BET hanya dapat menggambarkan pola desorpsi isotermi pada selang aw 0.6-0.8. Kapulaga kering (k.a. 10 persen bb) memiliki rendemen minyak sebesar 3.88-7.02 persen dan komponen utama minyak kapulaga ini adalah 1.8-sineol yang besarnya berkisar 72.01-79.41 persen
