[Provision of meat and meat products quality]

The EU policy concerning livestockbreeding and meat production is explained. The control measures to be taken for limiting the spreading of animals diseases are discussed. The main aims and tasks of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) system aimed at the guarantee of food safety are analysed. The regulations for the import of meat and meat products into EU countries are indicated. The list of meat and meat products are indicated. The list of meat and meat products control institutions in Latvia is presented.
