Indomethacin, applied prior to LPS challenge prevented the negative effects of the agent to a certain extent. This drug influenced favorably the humoral factors of innate resistance - lysozyme, complement but could not restore the impaired liver function. Through its regulatory effec upon the respiratory component of acid-base status, it had some positive effect on LPS-induced decompensated metabolic acidosis.
