Quality of wheat grain produced in Poland and the EU

The quality of wheat grain produced in Poland and in Germany in 1998 and 99 was estimated by CLTPiPZ (Poland) and the Cereal Institute in Detmold (Germany). The quality analysis included: protein content, falling number, sedimentation index and gluten content. It was found that winter wheat grain from Poland and Germany was high quality and could be used by the milling and bakery industry. The similar grain quality in both countries in 1998 and 99 was probably a result of good weather conditions during the vegetation period
