Disasters ruthlessly impact the environment, infrastructure, socio-economy and societal development, affecting the lives of individuals and community at large. A proactive disaster management approach focusing on leveraging crucial human resource is imperative to change the outcome of disasters and mass casualty incidents (MCIs). This article presents some emerging trends in disaster management, mainly from a holistic health perspective.
