英语. This work reports an outbreak of Angustalius malacellus (Dup.) in a corn field in the Veneto region. This species is rarely harmful to cultivated plants in Europe. The main features of the outbreak and larval behaviour are described in order to distinguish the symptoms caused by A. malacellus feeding activity on corn plants from those caused by other common corn seedlings pests (wireworms and black cutworms)

Vengono descritte le caratteristiche della pullulazione e si mette in evidenza il comportamento delle larve per il riconoscimento dei sintomi, sulle piante, causati dall'attivita' trofica di A. malacellus, rispetto a quelli di altri fitofagi che frequentemente attaccano le plantule dei cereali all'emergenza (nottue ed elateridi)
