Paper presents the results of measuring water absorption rate by swelling seeds of selected cultivated plants at application of weighing-buoyancy method. Water absorption was estimated on the basis of seed weight changes in a container put on an electronic balance connected to computer. The results showed that the water absorbed and swelling during soaking of seeds were the functions of soaking time and the temperature
