Reaction of Mn(ClO₄)₂·6H₂O with 3(5)-methyl-5(3)-(2-hydroxyphenyl)pyrazole (H₂phpz) affords a highly asymmetric octanuclear manganese(iii) cluster resulting from the different bridging coordination modes of the ligand H₂phpz.
