Джут довгоплідний (Corchorus olitorius L) – це овочева й луб’яна культура, яку вирощують у тропіках. Поширеними бур’янами, що засмічують його посіви, є котяча м’ята справжня (Nepeta cataria L.) і мексиканський соняшник (Tithonia diversifolia L). У нашому дослідженні вивчали ріст, урожайність і склад деяких компонентів у рослинах джуту довгоплідного за умови присутності котячої м’яти справжньої і мексиканського соняшнику та в середовищі, вільному від бур’янів. Методи. Дослідження включало два скринінгових експерименти за повністю рендомізованою схемою в шести повтореннях. Схема досліду в експериментах була такою: 0 (контроль), 2, 4, 6, 8 і 10 бур’янів на ємність для вирощування. З урахуванням площі поверхні використаних ємностей, така кількість відповідала 0, 100, 200, 300, 400 і 500 бур’янам на 1 м2. Параметри росту джуту довгоплідного реєстрували щотижня з 5 до 8 тижня після сівби, а врожай збирали через 8 тижнів. Уміст деяких сполук у рослинах джуту оцінювали з використанням стандартних процедур, викладених Асоціацією офіційних сільськогосподарських хіміків. Отримані результати були оброблені із застосуванням методів дисперсійного аналізу (ANOVA). Результати. Котяча м’ята справжня й мексикан­ський соняшник за щільності від 100 рослин на квад­рат­ний метр набільш негативно впливали на морфологічні ха­рак­теристики джуту довгоплідного. Ці бур’яни, за щіль­нос­ті 100–500 рослин на квадратний метр, зумовлювали також зменшення сухої ваги джуту довгоплідного. За пев­них умов, мексиканський соняшник може також спри­чиняти зменшення вмісту сирого протеїну в джуті довгоплідному. Висновки. Для запобігання втрат урожаю рекомендується підтримувати чисельність рослин котячої м’яти справж­ньої та мексиканського соняшнику в посівах джуту дов­го­плідного меншою ніж 100 шт./м2.

Purpose. To reveal the adaptive potential of stem lettuce varieties (Lactuca sativa L. var. angustana Irish) accor­ding to the parameters of yield, ecological plasticity, stability and adaptability in the conditions of the Western Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Methods. The stability and plasticity of stem lettuce yield was evaluated according to S. A. Eberhart and W. A. Rassel method. Soil and climatic conditions of the research area were generally favorable for lettuce growth and development. Research methods: field, laboratory and statistical. Results. Stem lettuce varieties showed different duration of the interfacial period of germination – technical ripeness: for ‘Pogonych’ variety it was 35 days, which made it possible to collect marketable products 6 days earlier than in the control. ‘Cobra’ variety showed the largest leaf area (13 109.12 m2). The value of the yield index of the rosette of leaves and stems over the years of research was in the range of 53.2–57.0 t/ha. Variety ‘Pogonych’ showed the highest rates of Yp.p. and Yd. – 74.0 and 7.8 t/ha, respectively. The stem lettuce varieties had a high coefficient of agronomic stability &gt; 70%. ‘Tseltus’ variety showed the highest value of the index of environmental conditions (bi = 1.07), which indicates its high sensitivity in the conditions of the Western Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. ‘Pogonych’ variety demonstrated ecological plasticity. Conclusions. ‘Pogonych’ stem lettuce variety showed ecological plasticity, stability and tolerance to stressful environmental conditions in the Western Forest-Steppe of Ukraine, but it was less adaptive to the constant limits of soil and climatic parameters of environmental factors. High homeostaticity was inherent in all studied varie­ties, which had a higher, than 70% coefficient of agronomic stability, namely: ‘Pogonych’, ‘Cobra’ and ‘Tseltus’. | Мета. Reveal the features of the formation of a quali­ty indicator complex in winter bread wheat depending on the growing seasons, preceding crops and sowing dates, as well as differentiate and identify genotypes with high and stable levels of manifestation. Methods. Field, laboratory, statistical. Results. A different share of the influence of the year conditions, the preceding crop, the sowing date and their interactions on the quality indicators of some varie­ties was determined. A different reaction of varieties in terms of quality indicators, depending on the investigated factors was revealed. The variation was very low for test weight, water absorption ability of flour, crumb porosity. Strong variation was observed for flour strength after sunflower and soybean as preceding crops, alveograph configuration ratio after sunflower and soybean, index of elasticity dough after corn, valorimetric value after mustard, dough dilution degree after green manure, sunflower, corn and especially after mustard and soybeans. The varieties, which on average for 2016/17–2018/19 reliably exceeded the standard both in individual indicators and in general in terms of physical indicators of grain and flour quality and dough rheological properties. GYT biplot analysis identified the genotypes ‘MIP Vidznaka’ and ‘MIP Assol’ with a more optimal combination of increased yield and a complex of quality indicators in terms of different years, preceding crops and sowing dates. Some varieties, namely, ‘Estafeta myronivs’ka’, ‘Trudiv­nytsia myronivs’ka’, ‘MIP Valensiia’, ‘MIP Yuvileina’, ‘Balada myronivs’ka’, ‘Vezha myronivs’ka’ were inferior to them, but were significantly superior the others. Conclusions. The selected by quality indicators varieties as genetic sources can be used in breeding process. A more stable level of yield and quality indicators at different sowing dates after different preceding crops should be expected for growing varieties ‘MIP Vidznaka’, ‘MIP Assol’, as well as ‘Estafeta myronivs’ka’, ‘Trudivnytsia myronivs’ka’, ‘MIP Valensiia’, ‘MIP Yuvileina’, ‘Balada myronivs’ka’, ‘Vezha myronivs’ka’. The peculiarities obtained in the research should be taken into account when evaluating and differentiating genotypes in breeding process, as well as developing basic elements of technology for growing the varieties of winter bread wheat. | Мета. Виявити особливості формування комплексу показників якості пшениці м’якої озимої залежно від умов року, попередників і строків сівби, а також диференціювати й виділити сорти з підвищеним та стабільним їх рівнем прояву. Методи. Польові, лабораторні, статистичні. Результати. Установлено різну частку впливу умов року, попередника, строку сівби та їхньої взаємодій на показники якості деяких сортів. Виявлено різну реакцію сортів за показниками якості залежно від досліджених чинників. Низьким був коефіцієнт варіації за показниками натури зерна, водопоглинальної здатності борошна, пористості м’якуша. Високу варіабельність виявлено для сили борошна після попередників соняшник і соя; конфігурації альвеограми після соняшника та сої; індексу еластичності тіста після кукурудзи; валориметричної оцінки після гірчиці; ступеня розрідження тіста після сидерального пару, соняшнику, кукурудзи й особливо після гірчиці та сої. Виділено сорти, які в середньому за 2016/17–2018/19&nbsp;рр. достовірно переважали стандарт як за окремими, так і низкою фізичних показників якості зерна й борошна та реологічними властивостями тіста. GYT biplot аналізом виділено сорти ‘МІП Відзнака’ і ‘МІП Ассоль’ з оптимальнішим поєднанням підвищеного рівня врожайності та комплексу показників якості у розрізі різних років, попередників та строків сівби. Дещо поступались їм, але відчутно переважали решту, сорти ‘Естафета миронівська’, ‘Трудівниця миронівська’, ‘МІП Валенсія’, ‘МІП Ювілейна’, ‘Балада миронівська’, ‘Вежа миронівська’. Висновки. Виділені за показниками якості сорти, можуть бути використані як генетичні джерела в селекційному процесі. Стабільніший рівень прояву врожайності та показників якості за різних строків сівби після різних попередників слід очікувати за вирощування сортів ‘МІП Відзнака’, ‘МІП Ассоль’, а також ‘Естафета миронівська’, ‘Трудівниця миронівська’, ‘МІП Валенсія’, ‘МІП Ювілейна’, ‘Балада миронівська’, ‘Вежа миронівська’. Виявлені особливості слід ураховувати під час оцінювання та диференціювання генотипів у селекційному процесі, а також розроблення базових елементів технології вирощування сортів пшениці м’якої озимої.

Purpose. Investigate the formation and functioning of symbiotic systems of soybeans with nodule bacteria by ino­culation of seeds with biological products based on fungicide-resistant strains of Bradyrhizobium japonicum PC07 and B78 with different rates of synthetic carmoisine colorant. Merr] variety ‘Almaz’ with microbial preparations based on B. japonicum PC07 and B78, with the addition of carmoisine (0.25 and 0.5 g per 200 g of the preparation), the amount and the weight of nodules formed on the roots during the growing season were at the level of the control plants or exceeded them. The greatest difference in indicators of quantity and weight of root nodules between plants of control and experimental variants is noted in a phase of full flowering at inoculation by both strains of rhizobia and addition to biological products of various norms of dye. Analysis of nitrogen-fixing activity (NFA) of the formed symbiotic systems showed the absence of a negative effect of the synthetic colorant on its level. When inoculated with soybean seeds B. japonicum PC07 in the phase of three true leaves, NFA was higher by 15.6–25.9% and in the budding-beginning of flowering stage by 7.4–29.5% compared with control plants with the addition of 0.25 and 0.5 g of carmoisine, respectively. Against the background of bacterization of soybean seeds by strain B78 before the phase of full flowering of plants the level of N2 assimilation by adding 0.25 g of carmoisine to the vermiculite preparation was at the level of the control plants. During the period of full flowering, this figure exceeded the indicators of control plants by 7.6 and 18.8% with the introduction of 0.25 and 0.5 g of the colorant. Conclusions. Carmoisine can be applied in the further study of the effectiveness of its use as a dye identifier for controlling the uniformity of marking of loose bacterial preparations on seeds by adding 0.25 and 0.5 g per 200 g of a biopreparation, since this did not show a negative impact on the formation and functioning of the soybean – Bradyrhizobium japonicum symbiotic systems. | Мета. Purpose. Creation of industrial hemp variety of multiple purposes with the absence of cannabinoid compounds, high oil content in seeds and fiber quality. Methods. Bree­ding (self-pollination, varietal-linear hybridization in the conditions of a vegetation house, selection), field, laboratory, instrumental-technological assessment of fiber quality, mathematical statistics. Results. The ‘Artemida’ variety was created as a result of hybridization of the ‘Hlesiia’ variety with the self-pollinated line of the sixth generation of the ‘Zolotoniski 15’ variety and selection for stabilization of high productivity traits and improvement of quality trait of hemp production. The variety belongs to the medium-ripe group; the growing season is 94 days before the phase of technological maturity and 118 days before the phase of biological maturity. When grown for fiber, the variety had a higher fiber yield (2.56 t/ha), the yield of all fiber (30.4% and including long fiber 27.6%). When grown for fiber and seeds, the plant is significantly inferior in height, which is positive for harves­ting seeds with a combine harvester, has a significantly higher seed yield (1.29 t/ha), oil content (36.8%) and fiber yield (2.01 t/ha) in comparison with the standard of the varie­ty ‘Hliana’. The analysis of the correspondence between the empirical and theoretical distribution of such a trait as the oil content in the seeds of elite plants of the ‘Artemida’ variety indicates its high stability. A notable feature of the variety is the formation of friendly seedlings and intensive plant growth at the beginning of the growing season, which helps to reduce the weediness of crops.  Conclusions. The new variety of hemp ‘Artemida’ of multiple purposes belongs to the Central European ecological and geographical type, although created as a result of varietal-linear hybridization of different types with selection on the basis of productivity, is characte­rized by complete absence of cannabinoid compounds, high oil content and fiber quality. The variety is recommended for growing for fiber and seeds. Due to its high yield potential, it is competitive in the industrial hemp market. | Мета. The t rait of cannabigerol content is quite stable within the population and is not correlated with the trait of tetrahydrocannabinol content (r = -0.23). TLC showed that cannabigerol accumulated mainly in the form of cannabigerolic acid and to a lesser extent as a neutral compound, which is consistent with the theory that this substance is a precursor for the synthesis of other cannabinoids. According to the results of the competitive variety test, when growing to obtain fibre and seeds, the variety features short height, specifically significantly lower total (206.4 cm) and technical stem length (135.6 cm) compared to the standard variety, significantly higher inflorescence length (70.8 cm), which determine the formation of the significant yield of biomass suitable for pharmaceutical use and high seed yield (0.98 t/ha). The yield of total fibre was the same as in the standard variety (29.0%), but its quality and technological value for primary processing were higher. The variety had a homogeneous sex structure, resistance to bioltic and abiotic environmental factors. Plants reached biological maturity in 116 days (BBCH 89). This cultivar is recommended for obtaining seeds, quality fiber and potentially cannabigerol (on condition of changes in legislation). Conclusions. У результаті синтетичної селекції створено сорт ‘Вік 2020’, рослини якого характеризуються підвищеним умістом канабігеролу (1,034 ± 0,0323%), що має низку лікувальних властивостей, і майже повною відсутністю інших вторинних метаболітів – канабідіваріну, канабідіолу, канабіхромену і психотропного тетрагідроканабінолу (0,003 ± 0,0011; 0,018 ± 0,0080; 0,012 ± 0,0027 і 0,005 ± 0,0012% відповідно). Ознака вмісту канабігеролу є досить стабільною в межах популяції і не взаємопов’язана з ознакою вмісту тетрагідроканабінолу (r = -0,23). Проведення тонкошарової хроматографії показало, що канабігерол накопичувався переважно у формі канабігеролової кислоти і меншою мірою як нейтральна сполука, що цілком узгоджується з теорією, згідно з якою ця речовина є попередником для синтезу інших канабіноїдів. За результатами конкурсного сортовипробування в разі вирощування для отримання волокна й насіння сорт поєднує низькорослість, а саме істотно нижчі порівняно із сортом-стандартом показники загальної (206,4 см) і технічної довжини стеб­ла (135,6 см), з істотно вищими показниками довжини суцвіття (70,8 см), які детермінують формування значної біомаси, придатної для використання на фармацевтичні цілі, та врожайності насіння (0,98 т/га). Вихід загального волокна становив, як і в сорту-стандарту, 29,0%, але воно характеризувалося вищою якістю й технологічною цінністю за первинного перероблення. Сорт мав однорідну статеву структуру, стійкість до біо- та абіотичних чинників середовища. Вегетаційний період до біологічної стиглості (BBCH 89) – 116 діб. Рекомендований для вирощування з метою отримання насіння, якісного волокна й потенційно – канабігеролу (за умови зміни законодавства). Висновки. Доведено ефективність залучення до селекційного процесу самозапилених ліній із подальшим їх об’єднанням у синтетичну популяцію і поліпшувальним добором на прикладі нового сорту промислових конопель ‘Вік 2020’, що характеризується підвищеним умістом канабігеролу й відсутністю психотропних властивостей.

The efficiency of using self-pollinating lines in breeding with their subsequent combining into a synthetic population and improving selection was proved by the case of a new variety of industrial hemp ‘Vik 2020’, characterized by an increased content of cannabigerol and the absence of psychotropic properties

To create an industrial hemp variety of the Central European ecological and geographical type with a high cannabigerol content and universal application. Methods. Breeding (self-pollination, creation of artificial populations, selection), field, biochemical (thin-layer and gas-liquid chromatography of cannabinoid compounds), instrumental and technological assessment of fibre quality, and statistical methods. Results. Variety ‘Vik 2020’ was obtained as a result of creation of artificial populations. The plants are characterized by higher content of cannabigerol (1.034 ± 0.0323%), and almost zero of other secondary metabolites, such as cannabidivarin, cannabidiol, cannabichromene and psychotropic tetrahydrocannabinol (0.003 ± 0.0011; 0.018 ± 0.0080; 0.012 ± 0.0027, and 0.005 ± 0.0012%, respectively). The t rait of cannabigerol content is quite stable within the population and is not correlated with the trait of tetrahydrocannabinol content (r = -0.23). TLC showed that cannabigerol accumulated mainly in the form of cannabigerolic acid and to a lesser extent as a neutral compound, which is consistent with the theory that this substance is a precursor for the synthesis of other cannabinoids. According to the results of the competitive variety test, when growing to obtain fibre and seeds, the variety features short height, specifically significantly lower total (206.4 cm) and technical stem length (135.6 cm) compared to the standard variety, significantly higher inflorescence length (70.8 cm), which determine the formation of the significant yield of biomass suitable for pharmaceutical use and high seed yield (0.98 t/ha). The yield of total fibre was the same as in the standard variety (29.0%), but its quality and technological value for primary processing were higher. The variety had a homogeneous sex structure, resistance to bioltic and abiotic environmental factors. Plants reached biological maturity in 116 days (BBCH 89). This cultivar is recommended for obtaining seeds, quality fiber and potentially cannabigerol (on condition of changes in legislation). Conclusions. Purpose. To reveal the features of agrobiological parameters formation of sweet sorghum various varieties and hybrids in the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Methods. During 2018–2020 twenty-one varieties and hybrids of sweet sorghum of various ecological and geographical origins (Ukraine, Russia, USA, France, Germany, Hungary, Brazil) were studied in the field. Parameters like plant height and indices of their individual productivity (grain weight per panicle, 1000 grain weight, etc.), yield of dry biomass and grain, content of sugar in juice and protein in grain, as well as estimated sugar and protein yield in a crop. The counts were carried out in the phase of physiological ripeness of the culture. Results. In the group of Ukrainian varieties and hybrids, the plants were from 272 to 306 cm high, in the foreign group –&nbsp;from 274 to 412 cm. Varieties ‘Red Amber’, ‘Sioux’, ‘Affas CJ 899’, ‘Freed’ and ‘Early Orange’ are of high value for breeding practice, their plants were the tallest – from 388 to 412 cm. The panicle length of sweet sorghum cultivars of Ukrainian breeding ranged from 16.0 to 17.3 cm, foreign – from 11.0 to 19.4 cm. Grain weight from one panicle varied from 32.8 to 41.6 g and from 29.2 to 43.5 g, respectively. In a wide range, depending on the varietal characteristics, the indicator of the number of grains per panicle also varied from 1338 to 1708 pcs. The mass of 1000 grains of sweet sorghum ranged from 28.0 to 31.0 g in varieties and hybrids of Ukrainian breeding, in foreign ones – from 19.3 to 31.0 g. The yield of dry vegetative mass of cultivars of Ukrainian breeding was at the level of 8.24–9.11 t/ha. The highest rates were shown in hybrid ‘Mamont’ and ‘Huliver’ variety – 9.05 and 9.11 t/ha, respectively. For cultivars and hybrids of foreign breeding, this indicator varied from 7.00 to 12.17 t/ha. Significantly higher biomass in comparison with the standard variety (‘Sylosne 42’) was produced by ‘Vorai Sumac’, ‘Sorgo Cucre’, ‘Sioux’, ‘Freed’, ‘Red Amber’, ‘Mohavk’, ‘Affas CJ 899’, ‘Early Orange’ – 9.03–12.17 t/ha. The sugar content in sweet sorghum juice varied from 15.2 to 17.2%. The estimated sugar yield in Ukrainian cultivars was at the level of 0.82–0.89 t/ha, in foreign ones – from 0.72 to 1.18 t/ha. In all studied varieties it was the highest in ‘Sorgo Cucre’, ‘Sioux’, ‘Freed’, ‘Red Amber’, ‘Mohavk’, ‘Affas CJ 899’, ‘Early Orange’ – 0.94–1.18 t/ha. Conclusions. The productivity of sweet sorghum varies greatly depending on the origin of the variety and hybrid. In the conditions of the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe, in order to obtain a high sugar yield, it is advisable to grow ‘Sylosne 42’, ‘Favoryt’, ‘Troistyi’, ‘Dovista’, ‘Huliver’ varieties and ‘Ananas’, ‘Medovyi’, ‘Mamont’ hybrids. Varieties ‘Vaconia Orange’, ‘Vorai Sumac’, ‘Sorgo Cucre’ and hybrids ‘Ald Sorghum’, ‘Sioux’, ‘Freed’, ‘Red Amber’, ‘Mohavk’, ‘Affas CJ 899’, ‘Early Orange’ provide high yields of vegetative masses. Purpose. To identify features of the level of manifestation and variability of grain number per spike in spring barley and reveal new genetic sources by combining increased and stable level of manifestation of the trait for breeding in the central part of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Methods. The research was conducted in 2018–2020 under conditions of the V. M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat of NAAS. We studied 96 collection accessions of different subspecies and groups of spring barley varieties originating from 15 countries. A number of statistical parameters and graphical models were used. Results. The ANOVA of the AMMI model revealed significantly higher part of contribution in the total phenotypic variation for every its component: growing season conditions (33.8–40.2%), genotype (35.2–48.9%), and genotype – environment interaction (17.3–29.3%). According to the homeostaticity (Homi) and breeding value (Sci) levels and GGE biplot visualizations, the samples were differentiated by the level of manifestation and variability of the trait and new genetic sources for barley breeding were identified. The coefficient of phenotypic variation ranged from low in two-rowed hulled samples (PCV = 9.60%) to near-high in hulless ones (PCV = 18.9%). High values of the coefficient of genotypic variation were found in hulless (GCV = 10.95%) and six-rowed samples (GCV = 13.28%). The coefficient of heritability of the trait varied from high (H2 = 79.4%) in two-rowed samples to near-low (H2 = 33.7%) in six-rowed samples. The expected genetic improvement ranged from middle in multi-row samples (GAM = 13.10%) to high in hulless samples (GAM = 23.51%). Conclusions. Collection accessions combining increased grain number and its relative stability were identified, namely, two-rowed hulled ones ‘Tiver’ (UKR), ‘Almonte’ (CAN), ‘Despina’ (DEU), ‘Symbat’ (KAZ), ‘Smaragd’ (UKR), ‘Novator’ (UKR); two-rowed hulless ones ‘CDC Candle’ (CAN) and ‘Millhouse’ (CAN); multi-row hulled ones ‘AC Wes­tech’ (CAN) and ‘AC Alma’ (CAN). The prospect of further research is to involve the selected accessions into creation of new source material and establish the peculiarities of the inheritance of grain number per spike, as well as to identify the relationship of this trait with other yield components. | Мета. Дисперсійним аналізом AMMI моделі виявлено достовірно високі частки внеску у загальній фенотиповій варіації усіх її складових: умов року (33,8–40,2%), генотипу (35,2–48,9%) і взаємодії генотип–середовище (17,3–29,3%). За показниками гомеостатичності (Homi) і селекційної цінності (Sci) та візуалізаціями GGE biplot диференційовано зразки відповідно до рівня прояву і варіабельності ознаки та виокремлено нові генетичні джерела для селекції. Коефіцієнт фенотипової варіації варіював від низького у дворядних плівчастих зразків (PCV = 9,60%) до наближеного до високого у голозерних (PCV = 18,9%). Високе значення коефіцієнту генотипової варіації виявлено у голозерних (GCV = 10,95%) та шестирядних зразків (GCV = 13,28%). Коефіцієнт успадковуваності ознаки мав значення від високого (H2 = 79,4%) у дворядних зразків до наближеного до низького (H2 = 33,7%) у шестирядних. Очікуване генетичне поліпшення становило від середнього у багаторядних зразків (GAM = 13,10%) до високого у голозерних (GAM = 23,51%). Висновки. Виділено колекційні зразки які поєднують підвищену озерненість та її відносну стабільність: дворядні плівчасті – ‘Тівер’ (UKR), ‘Almonte’ (CAN), ‘Despina’ (DEU), ‘Cымбат’ (KAZ), ‘Смарагд’ (UKR), ‘Новатор’ (UKR); дворядні голозерні – ‘CDC Candle’ (CAN) і ‘Millhouse’ (CAN), багаторядні плівчасті – ‘AC Westech’ (CAN) і ‘AC Alma’ (CAN). Перспективою подальших досліджень є залучення виділених зразків для створення нового вихідного матеріалу та встановлення особливостей успадкування кількості зерен у колосі, а також виявлення взаємозв’язків цієї ознаки з іншими структурними елементами врожайності.

Мета. Виявити особливості рівня прояву і варіабельність кількості зерен у колосі ячменю ярого та виділити нові генетичні джерела за поєднанням підвищеного та стабільного рівня прояву ознаки для селекції в умовах центральної частини Лісостепу України. Методи. Дослідження проведено у 2018–2020 рр. в умовах Миронівського інституту пшениці імені В. М. Ремесла НААН. Дослідили 96 колекційних зразків різних підвидів та груп різновидностей ячменю ярого походженням з 15 країн світу. Застосовували низку статистичних параметрів та графічних моделей. Результати. Purpose. To establish economic feasibility of growing walnut rootstocks. Methods. Walnut seedlings, promising as rootstocks in Ukraine, were studied in nurseries IE Zatokovyi V. Yu. (Sloboda Komarivtsi village, Storozhynets district, Chernivtsi region) during 2018–2020. Economic efficiency of growing rootstocks was determined according to the Method of economic and energy assessment of types of fruit and berry plantations, pomological varieties and the results of technological research in horticulture (2002). Results. To determine the economic efficiency of seedling cultivation, the technological map of walnut seedling cultivation was analyzed. The largest share in the structure of costs was accounted for by labor remuneration – 86.7%. The reason was the use of manual labor, which accounted for 96.5% of the total technology of growing seedlings. The level of mechanization of cultivation was only 3.5%. The total fuel consumption per 1 hectare was 120.7 liters, or UAH 2,957.20 in monetary terms. Thus, fuel consumption accounted for a small share – 0.4% of the cost of one seedling. One hectare of land provided an output of 65 thousand pcs of walnut seedlings, which amounted to 1,625 thousand UAH at a cost of 25 UAH/piece. Material costs amounted to 46.16 thousand UAH/ha (total costs – 712.43 thousand UAH). Therefore, the cost was extremely low and the level of profitability was extremely high.          Conclusions. Growing walnut seedlings of the varieties ‘Slava Ukrainy’, ‘Pamiati Zatokovoho’, ‘Lysychanskyi’ is economically feasible. This is due to the relatively low cost of one seedling (UAH 10.82) and high profitability of production of the original breeding material for grafting and planting industrial crops. | Мета. Purpose. To reveal drought resistance of hybrid tea rose varieties of garden group in field and laboratory conditions. Methods. Field, biometric, laboratory, statistical. The drought resistance of plants in the field was assessed according to S. S. Pyatnitsky 6-point scale (1961); experiments in the laboratory were to determine the water hol­ding capacity of leaves, their water deficiency, the ability to restore turgor, hydration of tissues according to the unified method of the Institute of Horticulture NAAS (Kytaiev et al., 1998, 2009). Results. According to visual observations in periods with low moisture supply, leaf turgor did not decrease, so in the field, drought resistance of hybrid tea roses was estimated at 5 points on a 6-point scale. In the laboratory, water deficiency in the leaves was calculated (as a percentage of the total water content in the state of full saturation). According to the indicators of the water-holding capacity of leaf tissues, varieties with the level of moisture loss in the exposure after 12 hours from the lowest to the highest, were selected. Conclusions. All varieties of hybrid tea roses from the collection of M. M. Gryshko NBG of NAS of Ukraine, included in the experiment, in field conditions were rather drought-resistant. According to the indicators of drought resistance of leaves from 44 model varieties, 9 with low (up to 22.30%), 5 with medium (up to 24.37%), 30 with high and very high level of moisture loss were identified (27.23–46.47%). Analysis of the research results shows that the physiological processes associated with water loss are a variety-specific, genetically inherited trait. Varieties of hybrid tea roses of diffe­rent geographical origin, which showed the criterion of drought resistance from medium to highest, can be recommended for cultivation in the Right-Bank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. | Мета. Установити посухостійкість сортів троянд чайно-гібридної садової групи у польових і лабораторних умовах. Методи. Польовий, біометричний, лабораторний, статистичний. За показниками водоутримувальної здатності тканин листків сортів чайно-гібридних троянд, виділено сорти з рівнем втрати вологи в експозиції через 12 годин – від найнижчого до найвищого. Висновки. Усі сорти чайно-гібридних троянд колекції НБС ім. М. М. Гришка НАН України, які були у досліді, в польових умовах є достатньо посухостійкими. За показниками посухостійкості листків із 44-х модельних сортів виділено 9 із низьким (до 22,30%), 5 – із середнім (до 24,37%), 30 – з високим і дуже високим (27,23–46,47%) рівнем утрати вологи. Аналіз отриманих результатів досліджень свідчить про те, що фізіологічні процеси, пов’язані з утратою вологи є сортоспецифічною, генетично спадковою ознакою. Сорти чайно-гібридних троянд різного географічного походження, що показали критерій посухостійкості від середнього до найвищого, можна рекомендувати для вирощування в умовах Правобережного Лісостепу України

У лабораторних умовах вираховували водний дефіцит у листках (у відсотках від загального вмісту води в стані повного насичення). За показниками водоутримувальної здатності тканин листків сортів чайно-гібридних троянд, виділено сорти з рівнем втрати вологи в експозиції через 12 годин – від найнижчого до найвищого. Висновки. Усі сорти чайно-гібридних троянд колекції НБС ім. М. М. Гришка НАН України, які були у досліді, в польових умовах є достатньо посухостійкими.
