Characteristic and nutritive value of widely distributed black currant varieties

The best-known black currant varieties grown in Latvia have been studied. Their chemical structure including the content of macro and micro-elements, organic acids, amino-acids, vitamins and phenols has been determined. According to the comparison data of 1993 the varieties "Belaruskaya Sladkaya" and "Minay Shmirev" have been considered to be the most suitable for the conditions of Latvia.
