ABSTRACT The development of technologies will certainly contribute to boost the commercial exploitation and domestication of Spondias tuberosa. The objective of the present study was to identify morphophysiological effects of gibberellin on the growth of S. tuberosa seedlings. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the Goiás State University, Brazil, using 300-day-old S. tuberosa seedlings planted in 12-liter pots containing soil (Typic Hapludox), sand, and manure (3:1:0.5). The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design, with five replications and six treatments consisting of single foliar applications of 30 mL plant-1 of solutions with different gibberellin (GA3) concentrations (0, 150, 300, 450, 600, and 750 mg L-1), using a manual sprayer. The plants were evaluated at 60 days after the applications. The maximum biomass accumulation in S. tuberosa seedlings was found with the use of 415 mg L-1 of GA3. The use of gibberellin accelerated the vegetative growth of S. tuberosa plants and enabled the formation of seedlings with better root system and xylopodium, and aerial parts with greater number of leaves, leaf area, and stem weight. | RESUMO O desenvolvimento de tecnologias de cultivo certamente contribuirá para alavancar a exploração comercial e domesticação de Spondias tuberosa. O presente estudo teve como objetivo identificar os efeitos morfofisiológicos da giberelina no crescimento de mudas de S. tuberosa. O trabalho foi conduzido em casa de vegetação na Universidade Estadual de Goiás, Brasil. Utilizaram-se plantas de umbuzeiro oriundas de sementes com 300 dias de idade em vasos de 12 litros contendo uma mistura de solo, areia e esterco na proporção de 3:1:0,5 respectivamente. O experimento seguiu o delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com seis tratamentos e cinco repetições caracterizados pelo uso de giberelina nas concentrações de 0; 150; 300; 450; 600 e 750 mg L-1 em volume de 30 ml/planta em aplicação única via foliar com auxílio de borrifador manual. As análises foram realizadas aos 60 dias após a imposição dos tratamentos. O máximo acúmulo de biomassa em mudas de umbuzeiro ocorreu com aplicação de 415 mg L-1 de GA3. A giberelina acelerou o crescimento vegetativo das plantas e permitiu a formação de mudas com sistema radicular e xilopódio robustos, parte aérea vigorosa com maior número de folhas, área foliar e massa caulinar.

ABSTRACT Nitrogen is the most important element required for plant growth and development and is the primary nutrient limiting sugarcane production. Field experiments under rainfed condition and some periods with high temperature (above 35 °C) were carried out during 2014-2015 at the municipality of Ocampo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The objective of the study was to determine the effect of varying doses of nitrogen fertilizer on leaf photosynthesis, plant growth, total chlorophyll, and juice quality of sugarcane commercial variety Mex 79-431 in the second ratoon crop. Six nitrogen doses (0, 60, 90, 120, 150, and 180 kg N ha-1) were tested and applied as urea 60 days after harvest, at the beginning of the rainy season. The results of the experiment indicated that the application of nitrogen in ratoon crop had a positive effect on growth and development. It is important to note that further studies are required on the subject, including timing of nitrogen application, application method, soil types, other doses, and other genotypes in the region. The maximum photosynthetic rate (27.68 pmol CO2 m-2 s-1) was attained at PAR 1500 pmol m-2 s-1 with 90 kg N ha-1. The highest yield was recorded in ratoon crop with a dose of 120 kg N ha-1. At harvest, the juice quality did not show significant variations among the treatments imposed. | RESUMO O nitrogênio é o elemento mais importante necessário para o crescimento e desenvolvimento das plantas e é o nutriente primário que limita a produção de cana-de-açúcar. Experimentos de campo sob condições de sequeiro e alguns períodos com alta temperatura (acima de 35°C) foram realizados durante 20142015 no município de Ocampo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. O objetivo do estudo foi determinar o efeito de doses variadas de fertilizante nitrogenado na fotossíntese foliar, crescimento das plantas, clorofila total e qualidade do suco na variedade comercial de cana-de-açúcar (Mex 79-431) na segunda safra de soca. Foram testadas seis doses de nitrogênio (0, 60, 90, 120, 150 e 180 kg N ha-1). Todo o nitrogênio foi aplicado como uréia 60 dias após a colheita no início da estação chuvosa. Os resultados do experimento indicaram que a aplicação de nitrogênio na cultura da soqueira teve um efeito positivo no crescimento e desenvolvimento. É importante notar que são necessários mais estudos sobre o momento da aplicação de nitrogênio, o método de aplicação, tipos de solo, outras doses e outros genótipos na região. Os níveis máximos de taxa fotossintética (27,68 pmol CO2 m-2 s-1) foram atingidos a partir de 1500 pmol m-2 s-1 com 90 kg N ha-1. O maior rendimento foi registrado na cultura da soqueira com uma dose de 120 kg N ha-1. Na colheita, a qualidade do suco não apresentou variação significativa devido aos tratamentos impostos.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to apply multivariate analysis techniques such as principal component and canonical discriminant analyses to a set of performance and carcass data of Santa Inês sheep, to identify the relationships and select the variables that best explain the total variation of the data, in addition to quantifying an association between performance and carcass characteristics. The main components generated were efficient in reducing a cumulative total variation of 25 original variables correlated to four linear combinations, which together explained 80% of the total variation of the data. The first two principal components together explained approximately 65% of the total variation of the variables analyzed. In the first two linear combinations, the characteristics with the highest factor loading coefficients were cold carcass weight (CCW), hot carcass weight (HCW), empty body weight (EBW), average weight (AW), croup width (CW), cold carcass yield (CCY), and hot carcass yield (HCY). The variables selected in the canonical discriminant analysis, in order of importance, were total carbohydrate intake (TCI), total digestible nitrogen intake (TDNI), dry matter intake (DMI), non-fibrous carbohydrate intake (NFI), and fiber detergent neutral intake (NDFI). The first canonical root shows a correlation coefficient of approximately 0.82, showing a high association between the performance variables. The classification errors in the discriminant analysis were less than 5%, which were probably due to the similarity between individuals for the studied traits. The multivariate techniques were adequate and efficient in simplifying the sample space and classifying the animals in their original groups. | RESUMO O objetivo com este estudo foi aplicar técnicas de análise multivariada, sendo elas: Componentes Principais e Discriminante Canônica, em um conjunto de dados de desempenho e carcaça de ovinos da raça Santa Inês. Para identificar as relações e selecionar variáveis que melhor explicam a variação total dos dados, além de quantificar associação entre os recursos de desempenho e carcaça. Os componentes principais gerados foram eficientes em reduzir variação total acumulada de 25 variáveis originais correlacionadas para quatro combinações lineares, que, juntas, tem capacidade de explicar 80% da variação total dos dados. Os dois primeiros componentes principais juntos explicam aproximadamente 65% da variação total das variáveis analisadas. Nessas duas combinações lineares as características com maior coeficiente de ponderação foram PCF (Peso Carcaça Fria), PCQ (Peso Carcaça Quente), PCVZ (Peso Corpo Vazio), Peso Médio, Largura de Garupa, RCF (Rendimento Carcaça Fria) e RCQ (Rendimento Carcaça Quente). As variáveis selecionadas na análise discriminante canônica, em ordem de importância, foram CCHT (Consumo Carboidratos Totais), CNDT (Consumo Nutrientes Digestíveis Totais), CMS (Consumo de Matéria Seca), CCNF (Consumo Carboidrato Não Fibroso) e CFDN (Consumo Fibra Detergente Neutro). A primeira raiz canônica identificada mostra o coeficiente de correlação canônica de aproximadamente 0,82, mostrando alta associação entre as variáveis de desempenho. Os erros de classificação na análise discriminante foram inferiores a 5%, os quais ocorreram provavelmente pela semelhança entre indivíduos quanto as variáveis estudadas. As técnicas multivariadas foram adequadas e eficientes para simplificação do espaço amostral e classificação dos animais em seus grupos de origem.

ABSTRACT The combination of grain and livestock production in integrated Crop-Livestock systems (iCLs) provide the opportunity to increase yields, improve soil attributes and ensure the sustainability of the agricultural system. The objective of this research was to evaluate the impact of seven land use systems on their microbiota. Five iCL systems were implemented in 2005 in Santa Carmem, MT, Brazil, with different rotating crops: iCL A (soybean/maize, preceded by two years with pasture), iCL B (rice/maize, preceded by two years with soybean/intercropped pasture), iCL C (soybean/maize, preceded by three years with pasture), iCL D (pasture/maize, preceded by five soybean/maize or millet intercropped with pasture) and iCL E (pasture/maize, preceded by three years with pasture). These were compared with two reference systems: a conventional soybean/maize succession system (CC) and native forest (NF). Soils were collected (0.00-0.20 m) and the population dynamics of fungi, bacteria, actinobacteria and cellulolytic microorganisms were evaluated over the course of two years (2012 and 2013). Likewise, carbon stocks of microbial biomass (CBM); metabolic quotient (qCO2); basal respiration (RB); acid (AP) and alkaline (ALP) phosphatases; β-glycosidase (BG) and urease of soil were assessed. The iCLs systems improved the performance of soil microbiota compared to the conventional system. The rotation of legume and grasses preceded by pasture in iCL A and C, increased the total fungi, bacteria, actinobacteria, enzymatic activity and CBM stocks. This fact contributed to an increased efficiency in environmental performance and added greater sustainability to the system. | RESUMO A combinação da produção de grãos e gado em sistemas de integração Lavoura-Pecuária (iLPs) oferece a oportunidade de aumentar a produtividade, melhorar os atributos do solo e a sustentabilidade do sistema agropecuário. O objetivo dessa pesquisa foi avaliar o impacto de sete sistemas de uso do solo sobre a sua microbiota. Cinco sistemas de iLPs foram implementados em 2005 em Santa Carmem, MT, Brasil, com diferentes culturas rotativas: iLP A (soja/milho, precedidos por dois anos com pastagem), iLP B (arroz/milho, precedidos por dois anos com soja/milho consorciado com pastagem), iLP C (soja/milho, precedidos por três anos com pastagem), iLP D (pastagem/milho, precedidos por cinco soja/milho ou milheto consorciados com pastagem) e iLP E (pastagem/milho, precedidos por três anos com pastagem). Estes foram comparados com dois sistemas: um sistema convencional de sucessão soja/milho (CC) e a mata nativa (NF). Os solos dos sete sistemas foram coletados (0,00-0,20 m) e avaliados por dois anos (2012 e 2013) quanto a dinâmica das populações de fungos, bactérias, actinobactérias e micro-organismos celulolíticos; estoques de carbono da biomassa microbiana (CBM); quociente metabólico (qCO2); respiração basal (RB); fosfatases ácida (AP) e alcalina (ALP); β-glicosidase (BG) e urease do solo. Os sistemas de iLPs melhoraram o desempenho da microbiota do solo em comparação ao sistema convencional. A rotação de leguminosas e gramíneas precedidas por pastagem nas iLPs A e C, promoveu aumentos nos: totais de fungos, bactérias, actinobactérias, atividade enzimática e estoques de CBM. Esse fato contribuiu para uma maior eficiência no desempenho ambiental e agregou maior sustentabilidade ao sistema.

ABSTRACT The cover crop straw may cause changes in the microbial activity and population, with repercussions on environmental changes and on the C and N dynamics, providing important information for the planning of adequate land use in the Cerrado. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of straw of cover crops on the soil microbial attributes and quality of organic matter. Experimental units consisted of 100 g of sieved soil placed in small plastic cups mixed with straw from cover plants. Treatments were distributed in a CRD, in a factorial scheme of 7 x 7 + 1, with seven types of straw, evaluated at 7, 14, 21, 28, 42, 63 and 105 days after incubation, and control without straw, with three replicates. The qCO2 ranged from 0.1 (Crotalaria spectabilis at 14 days) to 5.1% (Cajanus cajan ‘IAPAR 43’ at 42 days). The organic carbon and nitrogen reservoir are differently affected by straw of legumes and grasses on the dates. The incorporation of Brachiaria brizantha and Mucuna aterrima had a positive impact on the microbial attributes until the 21st incubation (qCO2, Cmic and Nmic), with little loss of carbon dioxide and growth of the microbial population. All the evaluated species presented a potential to be used in crop rotation systems, enabling no-tillage systems in the Cerrado of Piauí. However, it is recommended to select species according to specific purposes. Thus, the use of cover crops is an important tool for increasing the biological quality of Brazilian northeastern cerrado soils. | RESUMO A presença de palhada de plantas de cobertura pode causar mudanças significativas na atividade e população microbiana com efeitos ambientais e na dinâmica de C e N no solo, fornecendo informações importantes para o planejamento do uso adequado da terra no Cerrado brasileiro. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da palhada de plantas de cobertura sobre os atributos microbianos do solo, e na qualidade da matéria orgânica. As unidades experimentais consistiram de potes plásticos acondicionados com 100 g de solo misturados com palhada de plantas de cobertura. Os tratamentos foram distribuídos em um DIC, em esquema fatorial 7 x 7 + 1, com sete tipos de palhadas, avaliados aos 7, 14, 21, 28, 42, 63 e 105 dias após a incubação, e controle sem palhada, com três repetições. O qCO2 variou de 0,1 (Crotalaria spectabilis aos 14 dias) a 5,1% (Cajanus cajan 'IAPAR 43' aos 42 dias). Os reservatórios de carbono e nitrogênio orgânicos são afetados de diferentes formas pelas palhadas de leguminosas e gramíneas em cada data de avaliação. A incorporação de Brachiaria brizantha e Mucuna aterrima tiveram impactos positivos nos atributos microbianos até o 21º dia de incubação (qCO2, Cmic and Nmic), com baixa liberação de CO2 e aumento da população microbiana. Todas as espécies avaliadas apresentaram potencial para serem usadas em sistema de rotação, tornando viável para o plantio direto na região do Cerrado piauiense. Contudo, é recomendado a seleção de espécies de acordo com o propósito específico.

ABSTRACT Ramulosis (Colletotrichum gossypii var. cephalosporioides) is an important fungal disease of cotton in Brazil, exclusively controlled by fungicide application. Therefore, sustainable management of ramulosis is essential. This work aimed to evaluate the potential of three bacterial strains, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens (UFLA285), Bacillus velezensis (UFLA401), and Paenibacillus lentimorbus (MEN2), for the biocontrol of ramulosis in cotton and their effects on yield and fiber quality. Seed treatment (ST), foliar spray, and soil drenching application methods were used (separately or combined) under greenhouse and field conditions. Chemical treatments recommended against ramulosis and water were used as controls. Under greenhouse conditions all strains reduced the disease incidence. While B. velezensis UFLA401 and P. lentimorbus MEN2 reduced the incidence by 56.6% and 45.7%, respectively, independent of the application method, B. amyloliquefaciens UFLA285 reduced the disease by about 60% when applied as a foliar spray or ST + foliar spray. Two field trials were performed and all bacterial strains reduced ramulosis incidence. In the first year, B. velezensis UFLA401 sprayed on the plants reduced incidence by 22.3% and ST + two foliar sprays resulted in the best performance, decreasing ramulosis by 57%. In both seasons the yield increased by using either bacterial or chemical treatments compared to the water control. The combination B. velezensis UFLA401 and P. lentimorbus MEN2 sprays provided better fiber quality than chemical treatment. Therefore, Bacillus sp. (UFLA285 and UFLA401) and P. lentimorbus MEN2 are potential tools to reduce ramulosis, increase cotton yield and fiber quality. | RESUMO A ramulose (Colletotrichumgossypii var. cefalosporioides) é uma importante doença do algodão no Brasil cujo controle depende do uso de químicos. Portanto, práticas alternativas para o manejo sustentável da doença são cada vez mais necessárias. Esse trabalho objetivou verificar o potencial de três isolados bacterianos: Bacillusamyloliquefaciens (UFLA285), Bacillusvelezensis (UFLA401) e Paenibacilluslentimorbus (MEN2) no controle de ramulose em algodoeiro. Três métodos de aplicação (tratamento de sementes (TS), pulverização foliar e aplicação no solo foram testados (separadamente ou combinados) em casa de vegetação e no campo. Fungicidas químicos e água foram usados como controles. Em casa de vegetação todos os isolados reduziram a severidade da ramulose, sendo que os isolados B. velezensis UFLA401 e P. lentimorbus MEN2 reduziram em 56.6% e 45.7%, respectivamente, independente do modo de aplicação. O isolado B.amyloliquefaciens UFLA285 reduziu a severidade em 62.1% pela pulverização foliar ou por TS + pulverização foliar. Dois ensaios de campo foram realizados e os três isolados testados reduziram a severidade da doença. No primeiro ano, B. velezensis UFLA401 reduziu a severidade em 22.3% por pulverização foliar e em 57% pot TS + duas pulverizações. A produtividade aumentou para todos os tratamentos comparados ao controle com água. A combinação B. velezensis UFLA401 and P. lentimorbus MEN2 em TS + duas pulverizações foliares aumentou a qualidade da fibra do algodão. Conclui-se que isolados de Bacillus sp. (UFLA285 e UFLA401) e P.lentimorbus MEN2 apresentam potencial para proteger o algodoeiro contra a ramulose e melhorar a produção e qualidade da fibra.

ABSTRACT Psidium guajava L. is widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. This research aimed to evaluate the effect of the use of biodegradable coating associated with different temperatures on the quality of 'Paluma' guava fruits infested by Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann on its control. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design in a 3 × 6 × 6 factorial scheme with three replicates. The factors under study were three temperatures 10 ºC, 15 ºC, and 23 ºC (room temperature) with six treatments each: Control - WoO WoC (without oviposition and without coating); WiO WoC (with oviposition and without coating); WiO+CCFO (without oviposition and coating containing fennel oil); WiO+CCFO (with oviposition and coating containing fennel oil); WoO+CCBO (without oviposition and coating containing basil oil); WoO+CCBO (with oviposition and coating containing basil oil). The treatments were evaluated in six periods according to the factors already mentioned. Physical, physical-chemical, biochemical and subjective evaluations were performed. Data were submitted to analysis of variance based on the significance of the F test and, in order to test the effect of storage days, the results were submitted to regression analysis. The use of biodegradable coating associated with low temperatures minimizes the loss of mass and promotes less loss of fruit firmness. The presence of C. capitata larvae depreciates the physical-chemical quality of guava fruits, but the coating process associated with low temperatures is lethal to eggs and larvae of C. capitata, reducing damage in fruits infested. | RESUMO Psidium guajava L. é amplamente cultivada nas diversas regiões tropicais e subtropicais do mundo. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo avaliar o efeito do uso de recobrimento biodegradável associada a diferentes temperaturas no controle e qualidade de frutos da goiabeira 'Paluma' infestados por Ceratitis capitata Wiedemann. O experimento foi conduzido em delineamento inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial 3 × 6 × 6 com três repetições. Os fatores em estudo foram três temperaturas 10 ºC, 15 ºC e 23 ºC (temperatura ambiente) com seis tratamentos cada: Controle - SO SR (sem oviposição e sem recobrimento); CO SR (com oviposição e sem recobrimento); SO+RCOE (sem oviposição e recobrimento contendo óleo de erva-doce); CO+RCOE (com oviposição e recobrimento contendo óleo de erva-doce); SO+RCOM (sem oviposição e recobrimento contendo óleo de manjericão) e CO+RCOM (com oviposição e recobrimento contendo óleo de manjericão). Os tratamentos foram avaliados em seis períodos conforme os fatores já mencionados. Foram realizadas avaliações físicas, físico-químicas, bioquímicas e avaliações subjetivas. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância com base na significância do teste F e, para testar o efeito dos dias de armazenamento, os resultados foram submetidos à análise de regressão. O uso de recobrimento biodegradável associado a temperaturas baixas minimizar a perda de massa e promove menor perda de firmeza dos frutos. A presença de larvas de C. capitata deprecia a qualidade físico-química dos frutos de goiaba, entretanto o processo de recobrimento associado a temperaturas baixas é letal a ovos e larvas de C. capitata, reduzindo os danos em frutos infestados.

ABSTRACT During the chemical control of pests, diseases and weeds, great importance is given to the phytosanitary product and little attention to the application technology. The control of soybean pests did not escape the general rule and, therefore, some pests known as secondary, and even nonexistent, became responsible for great damage to the soybean crop. The objective of this work was to test the application of insecticide at different speeds (5 and 16 km h-1) by varying the rates of application in 108 to 110 and 199 to 216 L ha-1 to quantify the difference in the coverage percentage of the applied insecticide in the canopy of soybean plants, and to verify the interaction of these factors with efficacy parameters for the control of caterpillars (Helicoverpa armigera and Chrysodeixis includens). In general, the highest leaf coverage by the insecticide was observed in the upper part of the canopy, regardless of the rate and speed of application, resulting in lower leaf damage. For the middle and lower thirds of the plant, the decrease in speed influenced more the decrease in leaf damage by the caterpillars than the increase in the spray volume. | RESUMO Durante o controle químico de insetos, doenças e plantas daninhas, dá-se muita importância ao produto fitossanitário e pouca atenção à técnica de aplicação. O controle de pragas da soja não escapa à regra geral e, dessa forma, algumas pragas ditas como secundárias, e até mesmo inexistentes, passaram a ser responsáveis por grandes prejuízos. O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar a aplicação de inseticida em diferentes velocidades (5 e 16 km h-1) variando as taxas da aplicação entre 108 a 110 e 199 a 216 L ha-1 para quantificar a diferença na porcentagem de cobertura do inseticida aplicado no dossel de plantas de soja e verificar a influência desses fatores em parâmetros de eficácia para o controle das lagartas (Helicoverpa armigera e Chrysodeixis includens). De modo geral, a maior cobertura foliar pelo inseticida foi observada no terço superior do dossel, independente da taxa e velocidade de aplicação, refletindo em menores injúrias foliares. Para os terços médio e inferior, a diminuição da velocidade teve mais influência na diminuição do dano foliar do que o aumento do volume.

RESUMO A adequada relação no fornecimento de nitrogênio (N) e potássio (K) para cada estádio fenológico do meloeiro é fundamental para seu crescimento e desenvolvimento, com maximização da partição de massa seca entre as partes vegetativas e reprodutivas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência de concentrações de N e K para duas fases fenológicas (vegetativa e reprodutiva) do meloeiro e obter a melhor relação N:K para cada uma delas. Na primeira fase, foram avaliadas quatro concentrações de N (8, 11, 14 e 17 mmol L-1) e duas concentrações de K (4 e 5 mmol L-1), em delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, em esquema fatorial 4x2, com cinco repetições. Na segunda fase, em esquema fatorial 2x2, foram avaliadas as combinações das duas concentrações de N que geraram as melhores características na fase anterior e duas concentrações de K (4,5 e 9,0 mmol L-1). O aumento da concentração de N na fase vegetativa promoveu o aumento dos teores foliares de N, P e S e a redução de K, Ca e Mg. Além disso, aumentou o número de folhas, a altura da planta (tutorada verticalmente) e a área foliar. Por isso, 17:5 mmol L-1 foi considerada como melhor relação N:K para a fase vegetativa. Na segunda fase, não houve efeito das concentrações de N e de K sobre a área foliar, produtividade e a qualidade dos frutos do meloeiro e, assim, considerou-se 14:4,5 mmol L-1 como a melhor relação N:K para a fase reprodutiva. | ABSTRACT The adequate ratio in the supply of nitrogen (N) and potassium (K) for each phenological growth stage of melon is fundamental for its growth and development with the maximization of the dry mass partition between the vegetative and reproductive parts. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of N and K concentrations in two phenological growth stages (vegetative and reproductive stage) of melon and obtain the best N:K ratio for each one. In the first stage, four concentrations of N (8, 11, 14 and 17 mmol L-1) and two concentrations of K (4 and 5 mmol L-1) were evaluated in a randomized block design in a 4 × 2 factorial scheme with five replicates. In the second stage, in a 2 × 2 factorial scheme, the combinations of the two concentrations of N that generated the best characteristics in the previous stage and two concentrations of K (4.5 and 9.0 mmol L-1) were evaluated. The increase of the N concentration in the vegetative stage promoted the increase of the N, P and S content of leaves and the reduction of K, Ca and Mg. Moreover, it increased the number of leaves, the height of the plant (vertically tutored) and the leaf area. Therefore, 17:5 mmol L-1 was considered as the best N:K ratio for the vegetative stage. In the second stage, there was no effect of N and K concentrations on leaf area, yield and fruit quality. So, 14:4.5 mmol L-1 was considered as the best N:K ratio for the reproductive stage.

ABSTRACT The determination of the hydraulic and hydrodispersive properties of soil is necessary for the understanding of water dynamics and soil solute transport, and they are used as input data in several models. Determinations of soil hydraulic and hydrodispersive parameters are usually obtained by separate methodologies. Axisymmetric infiltration tests using a single ring infiltrometer with a conservative tracer (KBr) in the field (Beerkan-Solute) lead to the determination of the most realistic hydraulic and hydrodispersive properties of the study area. The objective of this work was the hydrodynamic and hydrodispersive characterization of an irrigated soil, classified as Fluvic Cambisol, from the lowland areas of the northeastern semi-arid region, located in the backwoods of the state of Pernambuco, in the municipality of Serra Talhada-PE. The hydrodispersive parameters were determined with the CXTFIT 2.0 program, using the CDE and MIM models. The studied soil presented hydrodynamic characteristics with high values of sorptivity (S) that were associated with high values of saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks), indicating that the soil has good permeability and resistance to surface crumbling caused by rain drops or soil management. It was observed the predominance of the convective process, being the CDE model the one that presented the best performance in the transport of the KBr tracer under field conditions, indicating the absence of two water regions mobile and immobile in the studied soil. | RESUMO A determinação das propriedades hidráulicas e hidrodispersivas do solo é necessária para o entendimento da dinâmica da água e do transporte de solutos no solo, sendo utilizadas como dado de entrada em diversos modelos. As determinações dos parâmetros hidráulicos e hidrodispersivos do solo são normalmente obtidas por metodologias separadas. A realização de ensaios de infiltração axissimétrica utilizando um infiltrômetro de anel simples com um traçador conservativo (KBr) em campo (Beerkan-Soluto) conduz a determinações das propriedades hidráulicas e hidrodispersivas mais realistas da área em estudo. Este trabalho teve como objetivo a caracterização hidrodinâmica e hidrodispersiva de um solo irrigado, classificado como Cambissolo Flúvico, em áreas de baixios da região do Semiárido nordestino, situado na microrregião do Sertão Pernambucano, no município de Serra Talhada-PE. As determinações dos parâmetros hidrodispersivos foram realizadas com o programa CXTFIT 2.0, com uso dos modelos CDE e MIM. O solo estudado apresentou característica hidrodinâmica retratada em altos valores de sorvidade (S) associados a altos valores de condutividade hidráulica saturada (Ks), indicando que o solo apresenta boa permeabilidade e resistência ao encrostamento superficial, provocado por gotas de chuva ou manejo do solo. Observou-se o predomínio do processo convectivo, sendo o modelo CDE o que apresentou melhor desempenho no transporte do traçador KBr em condições de campo, indicando a ausência de duas regiões água móvel e imóvel no solo estudado.
