We isolated a novel unique pentaketide dimer designated as epoxytwinol A from the fermentation broth of a fungus. The structure of epoxytwinol A was determined to have a new carbon skeleton with C₂ symmetry by elucidation of spectroscopic evidence. Epoxytwinol A inhibited endothelial cell migration stimulated by vascular endothelial growth factor (ED₁₀₀ = 2.6 µM).
