Determination of base temperature for different crops

Base temperature for important crops under agroclimatic conditions of Akola having sub-tropical climate was determined by least variability method considering the crops and climatic data for last ten years (1972-81) recorded at Akola. The data on base temperature noted were: Peanut 21 deg C, cotton, red gram and green gram 19 deg C, sorghum 17 deg C, gram 8 deg C, safflower 6 deg C and wheat 5 deg C.
