Effects of some chemical inhibitors upon growth of Aspergillus flavus production on peanuts and corn

Mixing benzoic, propionic and sorbic acid mixtures at 200, 100 and 150 mg. % with peanuts and corn could prevent growth of Aspergillus flavus and its aflatoxin B1 production. There were no harmful effects shown in rats have consumed peanuts and corn treated with those chemicals at the amount possibly taken by man in his daily life.
