The effect of feeding unsaturated fat in an experiment with 8 pigs was studied for the composition and acceptability of the pork. Feeding pigs soya, cottonseed and safflower oils at a rate of 24-34 g a day, decreased melting point and the resistancy against rancidity. Iodine value and linoleic acid content increased. The acceptability and pork quality scores by 4 judges at the Meat Research Laboratory, however, in spite of this ranged the pork to be normal, or better than normal.
