shThe lambs of two-step backcrossing between Polish Merino ewes and Blackface, Ile-de-France and Texel rams as well as Polish Merino lambs were fattened. The use of Texel breed for two-step backcrossing increased content of muscles and decreased fat content in half-carcasses. The use of Blackface rams increased bone content but Ile-de-France breed had no effect on the lamb carcass quality in comparison with Polish Merino breed l
