USDA Bureau of Soils Educational Sample Kit. Special Collections, USDA National Agricultural Library.
The USDA Bureau of Soils Educational Sample Kit was created by the Bureau of Soils in 1916 for use in schools and colleges teaching agriculture and physical geography.
In 2015, a teacher in the Cumberland County (New Jersey) School District, who found the kit stored in a school classroom, gave it to an office of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The NRCS transferred the kit to the Special Collections of the USDA National Agricultural Library in August 2015.
