Study was undertaken to investigate the effects of preslaughter dietary stress characteristics and meat quality. The chemically determined fat content of rack decreased significantly as a result of limited feeding and fasting lambs. However, the moisture content was higher in stressed animals than in the controls. In the same manner, presence of moisture increased as the fasting period prolonged. The protein and ash contents were neither affected by limited diet nor by fasting
