Experimental tunicamycin toxicity in cattle, sheep and pigs. Short communication
1993
Bourke, C.A. | Carrigan, M.J. (New South Wales Agriculture, Orange (Australia). Agricultural Research and Veterinary Centre)
In experiments using meat contaminated with tunicamycin, cattle, sheep and pigs displayed clinical sensitivity to tunicamycin in the oral dose range of 0.5 to 1 mg per kg, and a total cumulative oral dose of only 1 mg per kg body weight was potentially lethal. A minimum latent period of 4-5 days appeared necessary between the initial oral dose of toxin and the first signs of a clinical effect.
