The 5 x 5 diallel cross analysis was used to study the genetics of salt tolerance at germination in faba bean. The studies conducted under laboratory conditions revealed that additive and non-additive gene effects with a preponderance of additive gene effects govern the inheritance of salt tolerance at germination. Two parents, namely Somaly adn Kobrosy, were reported as good general combiners for salt tolerance
