Ambulatory Nutrition Care: pregnant women
1989
Economic, benefit and cost analyses are provided for a variety of maternal nutrition programs designed to improve pregnancy outcomes (reducing the number of low-birth weight infants and neonatal complications) by: cessation of maternal smoking, improving maternal dietary intake, managing the pregnancies of diabetic and phenylketonuria women, and providing nutrition services for teenage pregnancies. Maternal and Infant Care Projects and the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program are mentioned.
